I can't believe Toyota doesn't want in on this race(as a real contender). If the Hummer deal ever falls apart I would think they(Toyota) would be approaching Robby to run a Toyota. Could this ever happen as far as Robby Goes? Which car or truck would do you think they would run? Landcruiser?

Toyota currently has 16 teams in this event. Not sure what kind of support they are receiving from Toyota itself, but there are Toyotas in the Dakar including Team Land Cruiser. I could only suspect that either Robby didn't want to incur the cost to change equiptment or Toyota wasn't intrested in supporting RGM for this endevor.

IMO, GM will still want a world stage for their SUV's. It could be a Caddy or a Chevy that we see next year as both have international sales divisions. The question is will the Gov't allow them to go racing overseas.

I think ford would be the only logical manufacturer to take on this event.The company is very aggressively pursuing the racing Raptor program and it is one of the strongest american auto companys now.Also Robby has a great history with ford. So I just wonder if we could see a Dakar edition Raptor. Also the chinese do have deep pockets and also are planning for some revamps and new models for hummer,what better advertising than for your company to win the largest offroad race in the world. I think Ford could consider it ,but also Hummer I think will stay in it for quite a while.Just my two cents.

That's a good point with the Raptor. I would love to see Ford in this race. I could also see them put their Edge 4wd in the game.

Doesn't fit the rules,too much suspension travel and horsepower and other differences . The closest thing to the TT is the hummer.
