Traxxas Joins Stadium SUPER Trucks with Two Truck Team

Charlotte, N.C. (February 20, 2013) - Traxxas®, the Fastest Name in Radio Control® has announced their commitment to a two-truck franchise for the inaugural 2013 season of Robby Gordon OFF-ROAD’s Stadium SUPER Trucks (SST), becoming the first official multi-truck team.

Robby Gordon OFF-ROAD’s Stadium SUPER Trucks is a new breed of live off-road racinginjecting new life into the stadium truck concept created by legendary racer Mickey Thompson. Robby Gordon’s new vision of Stadium racing pits specially engineered, 650 horsepower off-road trucks against each other side-by-side on grueling dirt tracks with a non-stop stream of huge jumps, crossovers, and tight corners. The 2013 season will be comprised of 12 heart-pounding, action-packed events in the greatest stadium venues across North America.

“Stadium SUPER Trucks are the natural indoor compliment to short course off-road racing in the Traxxas TORC series. The relationship is much like Supercross® and AMA outdoor motocross” stated Traxxas President, Mike Jenkins. “Traxxas is always at the forefront of exposing the fun and excitement of off-road racing and we can’t wait to bring it even closer to home as part of the Stadium SUPER Truck series.”

Mike Jenkins, himself a seasoned off-road competitor, will drive the No. 47 Traxxas Slash SST. The driver of the second truck will be announced in the coming weeks along with the team’s official tire manufacturer.

“To have Traxxas commit to a multi-truck franchise in Stadium SUPER Trucks is awesome and an absolute honor,” stated Stadium SUPER Trucks President, Robby Gordon. “With Traxxas continued support of off-road racing, involvement in Stadium racing will be a direct correlation back to the consumer as the trucks competing on the track are modeled after the company’s wildly popular Traxxas Slash Radio Controlled truck.”

The presence of the world’s leading manufacturer of hobby-quality radio control vehicles will be known throughout the Ultimate OFF-ROAD Expo as they pull out all the stops for Traxxas Radio Control fun with products, contests, prizes, the Traxxas Girls, incredible, high-flying demonstrations at each of the Stadium SUPER Truck events throughout the season. The interactive Try-Me Track will give thousands of race fans the opportunity to take the wheel of a Traxxas Slash and put it through its paces on its very own off-road obstacle course.

Saw that 1 coming a mile away . The Traxxas Slash grill treatment kinda gave it away . They still gonna race the TORC series too ?

Great news it just keeps getting better. mj with what they have invested in Torc I can't imagine them walking away from that series.

Me either that's why I was asking . They did a lot for short course so its cool we got them in SST too .

+1

Only one TORC race conflicts with an SST event. The July 20th event at Minneapolis(SST)/Chicagoland(TORC). I don't believe that's a coincidence that the two series' dates for the most part don't conflict. I am excited to find out who the second driver will be.

My guess is it will be his brother Mark

Or Andrew Caddell he's they're Pro-Light driver .
Second truck = Kyle Busch. Lol

+1 I think he would be great!

Check out Kyles sand rail

Great News..wonder who is next as far as sponsored team. We should have a PlanetRobby team truck, donate to race...jk...lol.
