Trophy Truck question... Why a CK1500 and not a Silverado?

Anyone know why Robby's Trophy Truck is still refered to as a CK1500? A model they have not built for 11 years instead of a Silverado? I would think Chevy/GM would want their latest brand name represented. Is there a SCORE bennefit to running the older "style" truck?
