What happened to the truck, it looks like it was withdrawen. Also, what is up with the driver from Chile who was DQ'd. His comments make it look like he is blaming his bad luck on his equipment. BJ had issues but is still in it and has had some awesome stages, he passed a truckload of cars a day or two ago to get a Top 10 ... Go Robby!!!!

thats racing !
There may have been a few 3rd car issues, the Team Chile Rig wasn't inked til late, though they did get the 2nd car's number...
The rig may not have had every bug worked out, but with that support staff, it should have lasted a bit longer.

My theory, unless you've got dozens, if not hundreds of hours in the seat of a 700 HP RGM built car, your might ride the brakes a little too much the first day, the engines gonna might react to a bit too much doggin' the 2nd day, & the clutch might just give out on the 3rd...
I'd be lucky to get that truck to the first checkpoint. It was a good ride & a fine pilot, too bad it didn't work.

Or, as TOG said, That's racin'
That sucks big for Carlo I was hoping all 3 Hummers would finish. Carlo has got to be frustrated but with little more than a month to build then race the Dakar he was kind of on a wing and a prayer no disrespect to the crew at RGM but that just seems a lot to ask. Gas on Robby!!! Tear it up Ballistic Baldwin!!!
Agreed, it seemed like a last minute deal but I don't think he had all that much experience. Put a quality driver in like BJ and I would wager the car would still be in the race. What's up with the Truck, it looks like it was withdrawen from the race?
OK last couple of 326 questions from me.

1.) who's driving it now? Is it still following the same route as the race trucks?
2.) Does RGM own the chassis or did he build it for Carlo with the $1M from Chile?
3.) Any chance RGM will put it up on ebay? I would love to own it (This line was a joke! but I'd settle for a scrap of the body off of 351)
good questions, im sure they are just driving it around at the way points, killing time??
I kinda think it would make sense for Carlo to be out running the course at about 90% or so, gaining experience for next year and hopefully they can ink (and pay for in a timely fashion) another deal for next year. You just have to think coming back with the same people usually has it's advantages.
if you are out of the race, i don´t think you´re allowed on the racecourse,.you either go home or go on with the servicecaravan
Correct
Whoever was signing the check from Chile drug their feet for months.
If they would have given RGM the $ back when they first put the deal on the table, there would have been more test time for driver and rig.
Just like in Nascar......test, test, test, and testing some more, is the only way to get the car right and fast, and the driver familiar with the car.
Yes they dropped 250K many many many months ago and didn't send final payment tilll the last minute. RG had already started a brand new chassis for him and everything. But when they didn't keep droping the coin RG had no choice but to stop paying for the developement.
Why is Eliseo Salazar Pissed of Carlos Degvardo there is a video on youtube where eliseo was hating on carlos about the chile goverment sponsoring carlos... he said in spanish that That money spent on the hummer should have been spent for hungry poor people in the country..... If i remember correctly Eliseo was originally going to drive the 3rd hummer, but i guess the deal feel thru. He probably jelaous http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJqS-I64uAQ
