Today was a shame...Robby was the victim of a bad situation. His car was running better than I have seen in a long time; and I was impressed watching him advance from 40th to 26th inside of 30 laps. He ran all day with the leaders, but due to the tire that went down early and that dammed caution we ended up 2 down battling all day...racing Jeff Gordon who half the time we were not near or he would have been behind Robby. Jeff actually asked who he was racing today and when they responded Robby...he said "oh great that makes me feel better" what a jerk! I hope that Doug will stay on with the team, he is a great addition and we will only continue to run better with another experienced brain on the job. It is just a matter of time before RG wins on a oval as well as a road course. Maybe then he will get some of the respect he so deserves.
I watched the Direct TV Hotpass in car with Jeff all day. Mainly so that I could watch Robby out the windshield (you could watch him passing others for a long time) until the cautions and pit stops separated them and the crew put Jeff out ahead of Robby, with the traffic and such Robby was not in the right position to pass him for the position. I have no doubt he could have since Robby was certainly better than them today, which is obviously not always the case. He was making up ground when he crashed.
