If the heavy rumors are true this is what Robby and Childress are looking for so another attempt at the Indy 500 can happen. According to all reports (rumors) on the subject Marty Roths inventory is all that is available. The price was rumored to be 2 million back in October and he does not need the money so I assume it about the same now. I think old Marty is a little bitter that the IRL told him they no longer would give him a license to run in the Indycar series.

I really hope you are not referring to me on this one; I posted links to websites and commented that until I heard from people I know that work in IRL that a car was being prepped I doubted the validity.

Robby switching to Dodge before last season popped up on a message board first, as did his switch to Toyota this year. I agree there is a lot of crap out there, but sometimes the crap turns out to be true...
RG is a fool not to try this, 1 race he could get top 5, he won't sniff that all year in Cup.
Robby is racing Indy in a Penske/Jim Beam car. Due to the time constraints with the start of the Coca-Cola 600 the USS Enterprise will be standing by to beam Robby from the winners circle to the drivers seat of his number 7 cup car.
Hey... at least it plays to the sponsor.... "BEAM me up Scotty"!
yup, john nailed it, if robby ever ran the Pikes peak hill climb it would kickass and he could win, I would like to see that as a RGfan and he has the offroad setup already. How much longer till I become an "offical report" that RG entered the race. As a side note ROBBY RUN THE HILL CLIMB PLEASE.............
What a beast the Wells Coyote was.
Robby's comments were directly to Claire B. Lang, live on air via SIRIUS radio.
They were not veiled comments, very direct and to the point from his own mouth in response to a direct question... "What about Indy?"

Would Robby out and out lie to Claire?
Racing is day to day. At that DAY, he said Indy wasn't in his plans. But things can change the following day. SO if he were to make it a go, he doesn't need to justify anything to anybody, including Claire B. She will get over it. As of now, there is no truth in the rumors of him going to Indy , except when the cup series goes there.

My longtime friend Eric Avery, the bassit from Jane's Addiction, said he would NEVER reunite with his former bandmates, and he has been offered alot of money over the past 13 years to do so.He turned down all offers. However, 17 years later, he decided that he missed it , and now they are touring this year.I think as far as Indy and RG goes, he is day to day.Lets just hope on the "day" he has to make a final decision, he makes it a go.
As snow is perdicted because of 'Climate Change' for Charollette on the Memorial Day Weekend, were as the forecast for Indy is for Clear and 90, RGM and Andy Granitelli signed a deal that Robby will be running the Indy 500 in a Cooper Climax and sponsered by STP.
TOG, thanks for your info on the situation. If the right deal comes along I would imagine it will happen, chances are one of the races will be rained out on Memorial Day anyway. I would imagine if one of the sponsors wanted to go to Indy then people were actually trying to find the equipment to do so. The bang for the sponsors buck at the 500 is pretty high right now.

matt
IF Robby races in the Indy 500 I'll have to take off work on saturday, so I don't fuck somthing up at work thinking about the 500.
Are you a nuclear engineer? Or do you work at CERN perhaps?
