Care to share some of that cool-aid you're drinking? Best Buy is about 95% going with AJ and Mobil 1 is headed towards Smoke.
There's NO WAY a team consistently running at the back of the pack is going to pick up a top-tier sponsor. Doesn't matter if it's RGM or someone else. Sorry to rain on your parade, but RGM needs to focus on smaller sponsors and build up a program that way. Multiple sponsors are the norm now, and I think that actually suits RGM better than trying to get a single, season-long sponsor.

You, as well as most of the nascar fanbase, fail to realize, that Roger is the one who pushed Sam into the cup series. Roger told Sam before he ever turned a lap in a cup car that he would give him as much time and years as he wanted. As long as Roger sees improvement, then he will continue to field a car for Sam. He believes in him.
Hornish has three IndyCar titles and an Indy500 win on his resume. He has Roger Penske as an owner, and Penske has shown that he is committed (for whatever reason) to Hornish.
Add on the fact that Hornish has actually been improving and has been able to sprinkle in some really good runs this year and things look up for Hornish.
So yeah, to make this relevant to the discussion at hand, if a sponsor were looking to throw some money into a NASCAR Cup sponsorship, it seems like it would be an easy choice to pick Hornish over RG at this point in time.
