It sounds like Robby may not be running the full cup schedule, and that may disappoint alot of Robby's hardcore nascar fans. But what he plans on doing during his "off-weeks" has me absolutely excited. Robby says he is looking hard at running the Indy 500!! That alone would be awesome. But add in running the X-games rally race, building and (hopefully) running a monster truck, and running the Baja 500 & 1000. That is unbelievable. I am definitely looking forward to what 2010 will bring us as Robby Gordon fans, and I think it was worth the wait. What do you think??

sounds awesome
he's always awsome, who else can give you that much excitement the whole year, just RG.
I wonder is it going to be the MONSTER MONSTER Truck ..that sounds funny ...but I like it
Has a catchy ring to it.
Monstrous, in fact.
As i am excited about all that Robby is gonna do to supplement his off weeks, i will admit that i am a little disappointed that he wont be running the full season. But i respect his decisions. Plus deciding not to do the start and park shows Robby's love for racing and how hes there to go for the full race. Hopefully the 7 will find the track all 36 races, but if it doesnt "The wheel in the sky keeps on turning." I know thats from Journey, and no i am not a fan but the quote fits well.
Is RG actually looking at building his own monster truck, or buying Frank's? Frank Schettini is a crew member for the off-road team and already has his own monster he runs.

Very good point. It would make sense to actually rent or lease Franks truck for the season. Being that it sounds like this might be a one time or year deal, renting a truck that is already associated within RGM would make since. Then next year when Robby's plans change he turns the truck back over to Frank. Or if he continues then RGM can build their own truck in house with Franks support. Because I'm betting building a Monster Truck is a bit different then a TT. Better to use and learn what works at first before spending money and time learning and building your own.

Personally I hope this is just a one time deal as I dont see Monster Trucks as a competitive sport. I dont see Monster Truck racing helping put Robby into the Automotive Racing Hall of Fame. Monster Trucks are entertainment like wrestling is (BTW I hate wrestling) Maybe this is something Robby has always wanted to do as a kid "Living a dream" and maybe this will help bring in a kid / family fan base. But as far as Monster Truck racing garnishing respect as a true motorsport, I just dont see it. I would have rather heard he was racing his short course truck over a monster truck.
or perhaps it was a condition to get Monster to be on the hood for two cup races?
or perhaps it was Monster's marketing team's idea ???
Oh I'm sure this was not Robby's first idea. I'm sure Monster or someone had the idea and it is part of the master plan for 2010. I'm just saying for me, It's not the highlite for me of what we will see for 2010. I'm sure there will be thousands of kids who will have a different opinion.

For me I hope Robby races the full Score season. Since it was not said during the radio PR release, and because Robby has already DNF'ed Laughlin he might just go back to racing the 500 and 1000 this year. Then I want to see the #7 stay in the top 35 in Cup so when Robby is able to compete full time his team is locked in. I want to see Robby have a competitive chance at winning Indy, Dakar and the X games. And if he could throw in some TORC races then great! For me that would be a good 2010, in terms of watching Robby.
Nikal I agree, a full SCORE season is a must, despite Laughlin. Go for broke and kick some ass.
