Thanks WJM message sent don't know how it will be recieved. I didn't go off like i would have liked but that approach didn't seem very productive. I wish I had Micheal Martinez or 7gason7's way with words but hopefully "statt" gets the point.

Frankly this guy sounds like one of those fellows who feels that his first mission as a writer is to be "biting and opinionated" and who found himself obliged, or was asked, to write something about a series of events that he had not properly followed. Given those two determinants, it's probably no surprise that this was the best he could come up with. Heavy on the "biting" and short on the facts.

None the less, he may have a point about Robby's rantings. As much as I enjoyed hearing them, and as much as they solidified his fan base, it's hard to think it did him any good as far as his standing with the organizers. Robby could simply choose not to attend next year, but should he decide to, they're the ones who will be holding all the cards. It's hard to see where his telling them to kiss his ass is going to work to his benefit when and if it comes time for them to set the rules.

As far as him asking what business Robby is in, I suspect that bit of verbiage is simply another one of those "hard-hitting" writerly-type conventions. One of those things where he has a shoebox of scraps of paper with little endings like this written on them that he can just randomly paste at the end of any story that doesn't seem "biting" enough.

Too bad that in this case his pseudo-insightful rhetorical question is of the type where if the writer has to ask, most of his readers could quickly tell that he's the sort of guy who would never be able properly to understand the answer.

Hi folks, After seeing this story I dropped them a line.

What's up with the negitive article about our American friend Robby
> Gordon?? He kicked ass for the little guy!! Why don't you write an article
> about Peterhansel running over the guy on the bike and not receiving a
> penalty.
>
> Show some love.
>
> Besides Minis are for girls!

Agreed. He did kick some ass. One of us just didn’t agree with how he handled himself after the stage. That’s it. We had Robby on the show before Dakar, that interviews is on our site. All’s good in the Freak Nation!

My opinion and my opinion only. I think the SpeedFreaks are douche bags and I have always thought so. I am so surprised they have kept a job and their lame ass show on the air. Anyone who calls themselves the "Sarge' "Crash Gladys" "Throttle Jacobs, and "Statt Mann" are pretty gay and should not be considered real motorsport journalists.

I'm glad to hear they are supposedly RG supporters and support this site, but I still think there are a 1000 better motorsport journalists that I would rather read and hear.

I'm with NIKAL, the only time I pay any attention to those SF's is when they interview Robby. and as many times that they have you would think they get where he's coming from and be more supportive. Oh well GREAT JOB TEAM SPEED!

Agreeed Sir. When I'm in Texas for Cup races, my brother has them on the radio after the race. They target the "new" fans, The Danica, Jr. crowd.

I'm with NIKAL on this one.

Article was written by a RG hater!

Fans love him back off haters, go hug Peterhansel!

No responce to the author would have been more appropiate. Obviously his article was to insite , thus garner attention for himself. no responce would have left him feeling alone and irrevolent .If a tree falls in the woods and no ones there did it make a sound,

If we start to worry about what journalist, dakar or ASO thinks about Robby then we are in a losing proposition. Robby is 99% who takes the fight to 1% everyday. The just like most things in life, card the stacked against you when you go it alone and those 1% who have a good thing going dont like their party spoilt by a rebel.

The good thing is that he does play a great role of Robby "Robinhood" Gordon, which automatically becomes a crowd favorite. It is human nature for us to see 1% dethroned form their pedestal.

Oh please! Leave the occupy where ever mantra out of this. 99% vs 1% BS.

LOL
