The whole CFS thing is a conflict with Monster from my understanding. I also read that Robby was going to produce his own diecasts. I cant image that's true and I would seriously question the quality they would be. Its one thing to do what he did in 2001 and buy out stock and do a name swap, its quite another to embark on full scale diecast production.

Exactly. Which is why I threw out the possibilty of Action/MA or ADC (which has NASCAR molds, just not COT molds I believe). That may be why Robby might be "producing" his own diecasts. If it is a company like ADC going to do his cars, it would be interesting to see what the quality of their NASCAR diecasts are.

I will say this, as a one of many fans on here that have spent way to much on diecasts and other RG collectibles. If I were to find out this was Robby getting into a "control freak" type situation, I will be VERY angry.

Lets be honest on two fronts. First off , very limited cars are produced. Most drivers get 2-3 paintschemes done, with Robby we have been getting the standard one for the last 2 years. Secondly, the cars have little or no resell value. We buy them for 60 and have a hard time selling them for 25. Maybe you break even if you got it signed. The point is we don't buy them to make money, we don't stand in line to get them signed to make money. We buy them because we are loyal fans, period.

It would be pretty unfair (and rather uncharacteristic) of Robby to take away from his fans like this. Im hoping he realized all the canceled cars were disappointing his fans and stepped up to do something about it.

That is all so true. And if you believe the word going around now, with companies like Action/MA cutting production numbers (and the RCCA Elites being produced in even lower numbers), the resell value of the cars produced this year (at the least) will come back up. It may not help cars from, oh say, 2007 or 2008, but it is a step in the right direction.

And it is very disappointing to put in a pre-order for a car just to have it get cancelled (for Robby, pretty much starting with the 2008 Monster Dodge). Supposedly, it is a lack of pre-orders. Maybe Robby's store didn't want to purchase enough to help the cars reach MOQ because they didn't want to get stuck with cars for years. But, as a collector, it is rough having cars get cancelled because then you have to go the custom route. And if you don't have an artistic bone in your body (like me), you have to pay someone to do it for you and then with what you spend on that 1 car, you could have possibly bought 2 or more. It is a vicious cycle that has come from the over production of cars and the diecast companies taking a hit.

I never have nore would buy a custom car. Ill make them, but not buy them. I wont sell them unless its a name swap. It just seems pointless, I know the one guy that makes the COY Camping World uses Jamie McMurray's car to do it. He leaves the Roush Racing logo on it too. Im gonna pay $150 for that, nah...never. Most guys (including me) end up printing decals to use and water slide paper is a tricky thing. Unless your paying for good quality stuff and using good quality clear to spray the decals, you could end up with decals that crack 2-3 years down the road. This happens with any tampo style diecast, go look at some older Racing Champions. So essentially a guy trying to save a few bucks (while making a killing) could end up in your $150-200 custom diecast being junk (or atleast looking like it) in as little as 2 seasons. I can never speak for another persons work naturally, but knowing how people work I would be surprised if some of those guys use house brand clear and the cheapest water slide they can find. Maybe they use quality clear on the car itself, but most likely not on the paper.

I have never bought a custom either...which means there are cars Robby has driven that I do not have a diecast of. There would be a couple of people on another site I go to that I might buy a custom from, but only if the deal was good and I have seen a car that they did several years ago.

With me getting ready to move next month, my diecast purchasing has all but halted. I am only going to purchase cars that I have on pre-order (which, with the latest cancellations leaves two left...Tony Stewart #80 Daytona Raced Version and Matt Kenseth #17 California Raced Version and won't ship til later in the year). I have passed on many a great deal on cars I would love to have in my collection.

I stopped doing pre orders in 2003 when "Bens Diecast" did them. Infact, I was part of the lawsuit that exposed the "Team Caliber Elite Seller" as a 13 year old selling cars out of his parents house, making thousands using a fake name and a paypal account. Team Caliber actually sent him car previews that he sent to Jayski to get more and more business. Took me 4 months to get $70 of the $80 he owed me back. Unless your getting a gold elite (which is sold in a lotto program), no car is worth a preorder unless your getting it at a steep discound.

The only pre-orders I do are from RCCA or TheSundayHauler.com. I have had zero problems with either one. I would NEVER pre-order off e-bay...that is just asking for trouble. Speaking of gold elite, the very first RCCA Elite Thunder program I put in for, I won...and that was a Tony Stewart White Gold Elite #08 Sam Bass Holiday car back in January. I also got the Tony Stewart #14 Old Spice E-points Gold car when it was available.

Whats really funny about that Camping World car that he continues to sell on ebay is that the car he makes which is the Thetford Coporation car. Robby ran that at the first Talladega COT race but he continues to make it in the old car. But stupid people continue to buy it. I sent him a message saying the car he was making was incorrect and he said the next one he did would be the COT but it wasnt.
