AL-ATTIYAH SHOWS OFF HIS HUMMER
11:31 The defending champion, who was one of the last drivers to sign up for the rally after striking an agreement with Team Gordon, has presented his Hummer to the journalists covering the scrutineering. Al-Attiyah himself has only recently discovered the vehicle he will be driving the next two weeks: "I have only driven it between Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata so far, which amounts to about 500 km. I am comfortable inside this car, I am getting the feel of it. But I still have to get acquainted with it, so I will play things safe in the first stages and then step things up a notch every day." His teammate Robby Gordon is an expert of two-wheel drive vehicles who, among other things, drove an H3 to the bottom step of the podium in the 2009 Dakar. He is convinced that his prestigious sign-up has what it takes to face this technical challenge. "Nasser is a brilliant driver. I am sure that his experience will help him learn very quickly."
Nassar and Robby will be great, I think they have a chance to be chasing each other at the end of the ralley...and hopefully Robby can introdux=ce Nassar to his other racing ventures..
Woooow --- Al Attiyah --- What a run. Keep it up!!!!!!!
