Is there a new vehicle for Dakar 2011?

After the 2010 Dakar, it was reported that Robby said he was going to build a new vehicle with 4x4. since Hummer is becoming defunct, it would seem that he knew this and had another vehicle in mind. Does anyone know what this new vehicle is? Is he still on for 2011?

I guess no one wants to chime in on this issue.
I too would like to know what is being done here. If not for this Rally you would expect a change by the 2012 Rally for sure.

Well, this is one of Robby's rare chances to win or be top 5, so hopefully they are well prepared and runs clean so he can stay out of the pits.

Hey, he did it with a great 2nd, could not touch Johnson, but ran very well with a little help from Ambrose. Too bad the $$ is running out and cannot contest NH where he has won......rumor is that he is flying to South America possibly with the 2011 Dakar in mind??

So did anyone hear if Robby went to South America during the NH weekend? This whole issue seems unusually quiet and maybe that no decision has been made yet.

there has been no response, but I suspect it is a financial issue along with who would partner as a manufacturer now that Hummer is no longer. It will take an SUV type body vehicle to do this, and oddly enough, the best 4x4, Jeep, is not represented at Dakar. The other option is a pick up truck, which RGM has alot of experience in. Obviously he is not running Dakar this year. I only wish they would make a statement about this situation and put it to rest.
