good to know he wasn't 14 minutes slower than the leader....although from the pics, looks like it was a long day in the Hummer......come on sAND!
Dakar.com route notes sand starts to show up on portions of stage 3 tomorrow...
Then it's sand for days... good time to recoup some time.
Team Chile should be an asset as this is his backyard.
BJ's now 121st looks like that may be his final spot
looks like 528 is geting close to getting done

The stages get more difficult as the rally continues
Dakar 2010- Cordoba to La Rioja

Volkswagen had an excellent day, with several drivers at the front of the pack. If the early stages are any indication, could Volkswagen repeat last year's victory? Or even sweep the podium?

That will not be the case if Robby Gordon has anything to say about it in his Monster Energy Hummer. We haven't seen results posted yet, and Robby had a small setback when he hit a rock and puntured a tire, but he was still very fast.

Fortunes were not as good for his Hummer teammate BJ Baldwin. "This car drives 180 degrees different than when I was in it two years ago." BJ told us on Saturday evening. "I am used to driving with a lot of steering wheel input and a lot of brake and gas, but this car requires very precise input." A challenging section five kilometers into the special stage caused BJ to roll, but fortunately no one was injured. A competitor helped right the vehicle, which was able to continue under its own power.
