Yeah, bummer that he's out. I've not heard the full reason yet, but it seems to center around the alternator again. Not sure why the Hummer's seem so vulnerable in that area, other than dust and crap getting into the works, but I suspect they carry spares, so who knows what the deal was.
I did admire his "go for broke" approach once he got down on time though. It seemed to me like the way to make a good show, even if it looked like the time was too much to make up.
As I understand he has another ride for next year, but at least he got a taste for what independents like Robby can come up with.
I don't know if Nasser reads anything posted on the Planet , but if he does I would like to congradulate him on his exciting run and am sorry it had to end today. His driving was spectaculer never a dull moment with Nasser. Thank you for the show.
we need more nasser pictures
Good luck Nasser!Sent you all my love
Nasser is driving one hell of a race, very fast and impressive, maybe pushing it a little to hard at times , mostly at the end of a stage , but still impressive!
@Josh
I really doubt we'll be seeing Nasser in a NASCAR stocker outside of publicity. Considering he will be driving for the factory Citroen team in the WRC from Sweden on, will be in the Middle Eastern Rally Championship, might do a few rally raids, AND has the skeet shooting at the Olympics to go for, he will be a busy man this year.
Wow, Josh....That is certainly some "out of the box" thinking.....I like it.
Nasser & NASCAR (figured this would be the best place to pose this question).. So if two weeks from now Nasser & Robby are still on good terms what are the chances that we could see Nasser in an RGM car for a test be it at a road course or a short track? And if that goes well possibly a second car at a race.
Qatar is big into Motorsports Sponsorship across many different forms of racing & I know the other year there was talk of SMI building a few NASCAR style ovals in Qatar (though I don't know whatever happened with that).
