Some of the comments here make it sound like some folks think the Hudson Hornet charachter in the Cars movie was completely made up. It wasn't.



Hudson's were drivien to NASCAR championships in 1951, 1952, and 1953. One was also driven in the innaugral Carrera Panamericana race through Mexico by NASCAR driver Curtis Turner and his partner for the race Bill France Sr.
