The hatch latches were redesigned after Robby had trouble with the old latch design in the 2011 Baja 500. The new single handle latch was much easier to open and close saving several seconds on a tire change.
. The spare hatch they brought with them to the 2012 Dakar was an old design "2011" hatch.

That's the spare 2011 hatch. The Traxxas logo was on the new hatch. The old style latch hatch. What all Premium members already know!
