specialty vehicle builder/seller and CEO of an auto manufacturer are two very different things, allowing Robby the opportunity to do/say what ever he likes.
I agree mj, stay away from Renault's name. Gordoni works, and is actually better, in my opinion, for the case at hand.
Other possibilities:
The Gordona. Pronounced same as Porsche.
The Gordine, or the Gordyne. Pronounced as Jeff Bodine and Teledyne.
I like to think of cars and trucks as "she's." I would even consider a name such as "Gordonna."
Also, it would be fun to take a jab at the Mini's somehow. What about "The Mininot," or, "The MiniNOT"?
I have to think that the Gordini name is around only long enough to raise a few French eyebrows. But then, Robby announced that Gordini is the name. He either did this whimsically, and further research will yield a different name, or the research is done and the name is here to stay. RGM is small compared to an auto manufacturer, and they move fast.
Speaking occasionally from a whim is all part of the fun. "They can kiss my ass!" is not exactly what you'd expect from the CEO of an auto manufacturer.
Keep in mind Ford could not sell the "Mustang" in Germany because someone else owned that German trademark. They had to sell it as a "T5". THink how RG used "Fuel" on the Hummer in Argentina because there was an Argentinian company with the trademark Speed. Trademarks and Copyright really end at the nations border. If Gordini expired 25 years ago then RG has as much right to use it as anyone in the US. If he sells it overseas he can call it the Robbino...
and since Renault doesn't import in the US,why renew the TM here?
The HST is flat ass beautiful
and here I thought the TRAXXAS on the water mark was big.
