See the exhaust , it's pretty well hidden ...

@GLL It's not strapped down tight, pretty sure it isn't strapped down at all. It's on 1 of the haulers liftgates and it looks like someone is holding the brakes(taillights glowing) and they are getting ready to load it into that box hauler.

The more Iam looking at at the more it reflects an SST truck with (expensive) camper top attached. That belly bulge is hiding front engine, transmission and rear trailing arm pivots. This vehicle is going to embarras the rest of the field, all 12 girl cars included..

Man that thing looks wicked fast. Super stoked for this years Dakar, or should I say next years Dakar ;)

What's up (or in this case) ... what's down with the belly bulge? From this angle of the underside, Gordini is pregnant. There's not much ground clearance ... lower than a Mini.

Hmmmm. It's strapped down tight which makes it harder to tell. But it has 20+ inches of rear suspension travel then it would need mightily long trailing arms for a solid rear axle. I cannot see that being the case. So I bet IRS, which also makes sense if it has a rear mounted tranny. At which a rear mid-mount engine would make sense.

It's obvious that this vehicle has the dunes as it's main focus. So a rear mid-engine drive makes sense. I would not be surprised if this turns out to be basically a smaller lighter version of the past Hummer. Rules demand a pretty small intake orifice on the intake, which really cuts peak power (but not as much for torque ). So less vehicle mass is really needed. The Hummer was designed for the African version of this race. I will say this is a "updated vehicle based on what we have learned". Plus- Hummer inc is no more. Past time to move on from that for marketing purposes.

BWDIK. But it's fun

WOW the new header pic really shows off the styling of the new rig. The styling, fit and finish overall really make this truck look as if it were an already established full production vehicle. Excellent job by all at RGM who contributed to the construction of this truly nice looking piece.
