the gordini dakar is a new creation and have new problems but i hope to be ok for dakar 2015
When will I be able to by a production Gordini?
I believe Robby said ( 1:00/4:10 into YouTube :: ROBBY GORDON SF 250, 2014 ) :
"... I burnt up a piston on day one ... so because you're not allowed to change engines in Dakar, we just kept running it until it finally blew up ..."
Yes, Robby didn't have much time to vintage a fine wine ... to properly 'age' the Gordini before its time ... but he didn't seem overly disheartened by its performance to warrant beastly changes. Robby stated at San Felipe 250, that he had burned up a piston on day 1 because of vapor locks ... and since they're not allowed to swap engines, he ran it until it blew up. ( I don't know where the 'compromised air intake' excuse originated ).
Anyway, it's mid-April already and Robby still has some fine tuning to do to the old girl ... like fix the A/C and dust-proof the cab ... just two minor time consuming details.
last year at this time? HUMMER #2 was in the finishing stages of being updated?And the HST might have been in Robby's head or on a napkin?Maybe
You know what RG has this year that he didn't have last year? Time. Im sure we'll see a different beast out there.
The 2015 route has been laid out ... so Robby should have some idea of what lies before him. It'll take a whole lot more prep and test sessions this year than were spent last year, if Robby wants to take on the mighty Minis and Lions.
whats next for this truck .. plains ????
