I became a Robby fan about 6 years ago....I had never even seen a Nascar race but happened upon the Speed channel while they were doing an interview with Robby. They mentioned "doing the double" and I remembered him because my only racing experience at the time was about 45 years of never missing the Indy 500, including watching Robby getting into a helicopter and heading to Charlotte for the 600. At that time I had not a clue about Nascar , but when the subject of the single car owner /driver and the myriad of challenges it presented was discussed I decided to hang around and watch the race to see how he did. I've probably not missed 3 races since.I don't watch Robby to see Nascar, I watch Nascar to see Robby. My life has been changed, a passion I never knew that was within born because of belief in the dreams of a man who never gives up and lives his life full speed ahead to make his dreams come true.He puts his money where his mouth is and will reach victory lane with the #7 car. He's already a winner, because he is who he is.
What type of racing do you like ?
Yes
Will Robby ever win the Dakar Rally ?
Hell Yes!
This is why I'm a Robby Gordon fan....gas on and never lift
Hi Christy - thanks for the e-mail, yeah I've had many retina tears over the years, thank God they have been able to fix them and I am no worse for wear. Loved the video of Max Gordon on his Razer - at 3 he is a chip off the old block - drives like his Dad. I can't believe it's June already. Have you been watching the races? Since RG is not running, we just usually watch the end to see who wins, the races have become very boring. Keep in touch Love Joan
Hi CHristie - Great to hear from you. It was so exciting to see Robby up front at Dega - I only wish he could have stayed there instead of 37th finish - he said it was a bummer, and he is right. Just seems he never catches a break. The bumper lifted from all the pushing and they developed an oil leak and had to take the car off the track. I almost cried. Check in with me from time to time. Joan
Hi Christy - What are you doing this summer? Have you gone to any races. I am still going to eye dr. re: catrac surgery - I had problems with right eye and am still on drops to stop fluid build up and swelling ONLY ME!! Hope you are well, check in from time to time, I'd like to hear from you. Joan
Hi Christie - Please keep in touch - haven't heard from you in AGES. Wimmer has cost RG his 35th in points, at least when Sauder drove he finished for Robby, not a high position, but at least not a DNF. My catarac surgery has been a nightmare - complicaitons galore and still going to dr. have another appt. 6/20 and one 6/27. Am still at work, and read my Planet mail when I can get a few minutes. No one here right now, so I'm checking the web, then will go for coffee. I really hate NASCAR - they took Johnny Sauder's win away from him in the truck series last week, black flagged him last lap, I was livid. Hope to hear from you soon. Do you still love to cook? I love being in the kitchen and trying new things. Take care hope you are well. Joan
Robby is such a hot head - now on probation for rest of season. He should have ambushed Conway in a dark alley, not on the track. I would be pissed too, especially when he let Conway use his facility & team to get the Rookie of the Year last year - but, if Conway's sponsors aren't paying, he really can't do anything about that. Still I understand why Robby is mad, he gets screwed by everyone. Last time it was Everham, now this. Poor guy can't get honet people to work with and he gives it his all. Nice guys finish last. Joanf
Hi Christy - checking in haven't heard from you. Robby noow 26th in driver points - better than last year especially after the "big one" last weekend. I was sick when I saw the 7 turned around and messed up. I really felt bad, he was at least a 15th car, but the wreck did him in. Keep in touch. Joan
Of course I have noticed you have been missing. I saw where you had posted to a thread so I knew you must still be coming here now and then. Just had to say hello.
Retired huh!?! What do you do to fill your time now? Not much here happening in the Burg. Got a group of 7 of us going to the Kentucky race this summer. Always welcoming more for a Planet meet-up!
