Back to the track, today is going to be a long day. We got to the track around 8am and walked around the merchandise trailers. Danica's was the busiest. I saw Ryan Newman & Jeff Gordon at the Chevy stage. Too bad I missed Jimmie (lol). Oh, I got AJ Allmendinger's autograph.
Cup practice started at 10:30. It was good to see cars back on the track. Robby put down a fast lap, then went to the garage to make some adjustments which they ended up switching back. They spent a lot more time in the garage than on the track.
At 12:15 was NNS driver introductions and the green flag for the Danica 300 was at 1. Tony's car was fast and was pretty much the class of the field along with Harvick, but you just knew Tony was going to win again. Justin Allgaier did a great job too. Danica spent most of the time riding around in the back and then got tangled up in a wreck. She sure has attracted a lot of fans in a short period of time.
Jerry and I went back to sit in the car to warm up between the races, we called Sarah and then I went to talk to Val and her husband for awhile. It was cool to meet another member from the Planet, we were supposed to meet up with Karen, but never did get to.
Up next is my first NASCAR night race. The Camping World Truck race finally got started around 7:20, but there were two wrecks before the first lap and the wrecking didn't stop there. Early on some of the best trucks were taken out of contention. Too bad Kyle got caught up in a mess, because once he got rolling again, he still had a good truck. Of course, like Tony dominating the Nationwide race, you expect Todd Bodine to dominate the truck race. Timothy Peters just beat him too, it was a great race The race didn't end until 9:30 and I was beat after being at the track over 13 hours and tomorrow was going to be another early day.
