Biffle has a Suspensions Unlimited, took delivery about 10 months ago. He used to sign autographs at their shop when they came to California Speedway...

Robby took some of the NASCAR guys to Dumont on Wednesday.

Biffle has a sand car, built by Suspensions Unlimited. Kyle Busch and Casey Mears have some as well, pretty sure they are Tatums.

I’d heard drivers mention “going to the dunes” before, but I never really grasped what they were talking about until I saw exactly what these dunes were.

The only true comparison I can make is to what I always imagined Egypt would look like: As if someone took the world’s supply of sand and dumped it all in one place, leaving several sandy peaks and a mass of smaller hills behind.

Near the base of the highest dune, the 1,200-foot tall Comp Hill, is a collection of motor homes and trailers arranged in a semicircle with dozens of desert vehicles in the middle.

It’s a mini-NASCAR community with Busch, his older brother Kurt, Greg Biffle, Robby Gordon and Matt Crafton. Elsewhere on the other side of the dunes is Casey Mears.
