The Hummer isn't a truggy it's a buggy with a truck/suv replica body. Nasser's cars are buggy's vey similar to RG's Hummer the difference between a buggy and a truggy one is front engined with a live rear axle a buggy is rear engined with an independent rear suspinsion. so you combine Nasser's buggy with the fact it's ugly as shit you get a "Buggly"
The name "buggly" comes from the guy who drove a vehicle named "truggy" to the Best in The Desert Championship this year. The truggy is pretty ugly itself, but with Robby behind the wheel it's a thing of beauty.
By now, there must be a name for a trophy truck losing it's fiberglass panels. It's quite common to see especially the rear quarter panels of a TT flopping in the wind. The truggy body panels stay put much better than those of a TT.
Just to be clear, a "buggly" is NOT a "truggy" - as we shall soon see!
Ha
Classic Robby. Why I am an RG fan part 897.
Hah! What I love about this interview (like most), is that he does the whole thing with a straight face. Kinda like Chip Kelly. Or maybe that's vice-versa.
Great video- thanks Jaci!!
I think if you ask a guy who has spent as much time and energy on this Dakar race, "So you run on the same team as Nasser last year, what you think of his car". It provokes a thought.... Nasser was on RG's team as a last minute "Buy in" teammate who pushed the entire crew over the edge, to a detriment. Then instead of truly being a teammate walked off the race after Robby had been there for him many of times? Carma has a way, never wish ill upon others and the truth will always play out. Prediction....Nasser will crash out his short wheel base "Buggly" and once again bring another team down. Gas On Robby !!!
wonderful Interview!!!!
Robby is funny! I understand that winning this thing is huge. If you are going to compete, compete fiercely! Further, I want to believe that Robby thoroughly enjoys this and that he understands that he's a lucky man to be doing what he's doing. This is going to be a great Dakar!
I predict Nasser being a non-issue pretty early on. Peterhansel is the man to beat. Would love to see them both race SST's someday. But it's Dakar time, time to roost a few Minis!
This is awesome! Rock on!
