Ron Fellows' 3-Wide Pass at Sonoma, June 2003

Two years after costing Robby Gordon the win at Sonoma, California's Infineon Raceway in 2001, Kevin Harvick tries it again. Halfway through the 2003 Dodge/SaveMart 350, Harvick darts to the inside of Robby in Turn 11, but drives in so hard both cars shove up the track. This allows Canadian road course expert Ron Fellows, driving DEI's Pennzoil Chevrolet, to pull a daring three-wide pass on the inside to take the lead. Unfortunately, an ill-timed caution cost Fellows the victory, but the turn of events granted Robby his first road course victory after a tough battle with Jeff Gordon in the closing laps.
