Connection: 4 km | Special: 253 km | Connection: 261 km | Total: 518 km
As concerns crossings, the day’s special is a concentrate of technique. Various types of dunes will be encountered, including the very formidable “white dunes”. Just three days from arrival, this stage can scramble rankings, especially because the assistance vehicles will not have access to the Fiambala bivouac. The Golden Rule is still: “know how to economize your machine”.

I wonder how severe Sainz co-pilot is hurt.. must be pretty bad if they withdrew from the lead.. then again, his co-pilot is french... sorry, had to add that in there

14:32 - Car - Miller still leads at CP2

The new leader of the general standings since the withdrawal of Spaniard Carlos Sainz, American Mark Miller (VW) is still in the lead on this 12th special stage at CP2, after 137 km of the day’s special stage. The American has a lead of 1.37 over his country-man Robby Gordon (Hummer), and 2.12 over his South African team-mate Giniel De Villiers...
