Stage 13 - Friday, January 16

La Rioja > Cordoba

Connection: 161 km | Special: 545 km | Connection: 47 km | Total: 753 km

After having swallowed thousands of kilometers, participants will face a first-class physical challenge in this next-to-the-last stage. State-of-the-art pilots must maintain their position, while amateurs must avoid an excess of confidence. Errors can leave bitter memories, since this will be the day of cacti. At the bivouac, doctors will no doubt be called on to wield the tweezers. Finally, for the experts of traditional rallies, certain routes are part of the patrimony of the World Cup that takes place every year in Cordoba. Here, aficionados will guarantee a large popular fiesta.

226 mile liaison to the start of the 136 mile special. The liaison miles they've driven so far are probably more than actual race miles. The shortened stages have turned this into a series of WRC sprint races. Unless someone has major issues, there's not much ground to be made up today or tomorrow. Tomorrow's special is only 141 miles (351 miles of liaison).

A stage win would be great but protecting a podium finish is more important at this point.

No reason he can't have both. I don't think either VW will push it at all right now, and RG will be able to coast by and get the stage without even pushing too hard.

It depends on how the cars first few cars that start behind him attack the stage though....they have little left to lose.

Good Morning all.. I am late.. had to get my wife's car started, it's only 8 below today with a 30 below wind chill so things are looking up!! Nice shortened stage.. think they might cancel tomorrow? They have cancelled everything else..
