Final day of the 2009 Dakar rally. Thanks for all the participation during the past 2 weeks.

Stage 14 - Saturday, January 17

Cordoba > Buenos Aires

Connection: 224 km | Special: 227 km | Connection: 341 km | Total: 792 km

The adventure began on La Pampa. After having explored two veritable nation-continents, the competitors will find a more familiar type of landscape. On long, rolling routes, concentration remains necessary. Those who arrive with a ranking in Buenos Aires will have achieved the most impressive loop ever undertaken in rally-raid. And they will remain forever first

The record books will show a win.
LOL. I love announcing Robby was first in Open Class !! Even if the only person he was running against was EV!!
Been lurking to catch updates. Thanks for allowing me to eavesdrop!
Just got up, They did very well, alot was gained, thanks TOG YOUR THE BIG , everyone else your all great fans to a true racer. Also, well done to the crew, the shop, and sponsors they should all be stoked.
Congrats to Robby and the whole team. Hell of a job! Can't wait for NASCAR now!
This was a great rally.
Robby did the best he could against the top manufacturers.

Congratulations Robby and all the Team Dakar USA!!

Now lets head to Daytona.
Take a note of the Donate link to the right of the chat between Latest Activity and Jayski.Lets show TOG how much we appreciate his work.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ROBBY AND TEAM DAKAR USA!!! TAKE A BOW!!!
Just woke up out here on the West coast to find excellent results for our team. Congrats to TOG and all the other Planet people that assisted. What a great time every morning following the Rally. Again thanks

A shame that what Team Dakar USA accomplished will barely get a blip of acknowledgment in the States but the rest of the rally world has taken notice proving that a two-car small budget team can run with, at times beat, and outlast mega dollar factory teams. Regardless of what happens with GM and the Hummer division, Robby will be at the 2010 Dakar driving something.

Congrats to Robby, Andy, Eric, Alexandre and the entire team for an exceptional job. Kudos to Mark Miller also. Mark drove a smart race but in the end it had to be a bitter pill to swallow. Two stages left, two minutes behind, then having his hands and feet tied - team orders suck - but he knew that going in.

Bad break for Jonah Street (no pun). He finally got his first stage win and was a real threat for the overall. None of he American riders (3) finished. There's always next year.
Thanks TOG! Please do it again next year!
Good job Robby and Andy! EV too!
Thanks Toyo, Hummer, Jim Beam, and the rest of the sponsors!
In celebration, I'm going to to get a set of Toyo's for my truck and stop on the way back for bottle of Jim Beam Black!
I have really enjoyed this edition of the Dakar, much of it because of the work of TOG, et al. Many of you have been around since Rory's site back in early 2000 (or was it late 90's?) This remarkable achievement by Robby validates to the rest of the racing community what many of us have known for years...Robby is one of the best "racers" on the planet and that is why we have been devoted fans all these many years.
