Kevin Harvick to follow Robby and leave RCR to start his own team in 2010?

If you thought NASCAR Silly Season in 2009 was a BIG DEAL, oh just wait till Silly Season 2010 begins. Oh yeah, it already began. Here are some big potential "Free Agents" for 2010: Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray, Juan Pablo Montoya, David Ragan, David Reutimann, Martin Truex Jr., and Brian Vickers.

If that's unbelievable just wait, David Stremme and Marcos Ambrose have both signed only one-year deals with their teams. In addition, David Gilliland is without a ride

Rumors have Micheal Waltrip retiring and Jeff Gordon conciliating it.

Things are getting crazy, with Roush Fenway having to downsize to four teams, per NASCAR rules, and Mark Martin running only a partial schedule. And the always unstable EGR Gibbs and Yates Racing teams adding one team a piece to get to the limit of four. Steward/Hass Racing is rumored to have Truex and Bass Pro all lined up for a third team.

Harvick has been rumored to start his own Cup team as well, and is free of any contracts after 2009. Almost no one, except Robby Gordon, runs a one-car team that wants to win.

B/R Ticket Guide Powered by FanSnap.comIs Justin Alligar set to replace Stremme? Or will they expand to a four-car team? What about Kvapil? He must do good, or Yates will kick him to the curb, just like Gilliland.

Brad Keselowski is rumored to take over Martins' ride in 2011, and run the partial in 2010. But, who knows for sure? Gibbs has Brad Colman and Marc Davis signed to contracts, and JGR has an unnamed driver running the 02 with Farm Bureau later this year.

RCR has Austin Dillon, Stephen Leight, and Blake Koch under contact. Roush Fenway has Eric Darnell, Colin Braun, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, and John Wes Townley in their developmental system.

What future does Ricky Carmicheal have in NASCAR? With all the success Eddie Sharpe Racing has had in the ARCA Re/Max Series, why wouldn't they try out a Cup team with the economic down fall? They have four drivers under there banner like Justin Lofton, Tim George Jr, Steve Arpin, and Craig Goess.

Will JR Motorsports move up? Is that where Truex will go as a satellite operation to Hendrick? And will HMS ever do anything with Landon Cassel?

What about Josh Wise and Ken Butler III? And what about ERG having more drivers in development than anyone I know, with Trevor Bayne Brady Bacon, Jesus Hernadez, Bryan Clauson, Kevin Hamlin, Curtis Truex, and Jeffrey Earnhardt all on the sideline?

Who will merge? Who will shut down? Who will add more drivers? Will Red Bull Racing expand? Will Wood Brothers be rejuvenated? Will Randy Moss Racing stay in the Camping World Truck Series forever, or do they move to Cup?

What about JTG racing? Will they become a two-car team? They do have Micheal McDowell, which has cup experience in their Nationwide car? What ever happened to Jon Wood? Questions, questions, questions.

Speedweeks is actually the start to yet another Silly Season. What will happen next?

Dude you made my head spin. LOL It's a bit early, but Great info.
bigzoom - you should really cite the source when you copy things here. Give the original author some credit.
GEEZ! You guys are a cranky bunch sometimes....

I appreciate your participation a bunch, But I do agree that you should at least acknowledge the original source. If it's your opinion, just say so... no biggie.
IF Truex leaves, I would expect to JPM to stay. Being the first and best driver on the team, he would have the best equipment at DEI. I would expect Hornish to leave here soon, and maybe that would open up a spot for McMurray, odd man out at Roush. Ragan will stay. I think it would be cool to see Harvick go to his own team, but that would be highly doubtful.
Waaaaay too early for any of this. Don't talk to me about silly season until at least April or May.

By the way: Harvick is on the record saying that if he bought KHI to cup, he would bot drive it. Similar to how Dale Sr. established RCR.
And Tony said he'd never leave Zippy, and Hendrick said there was no room at the inn, and Mark Martin said he was retiring... I'm sure there are other prime examples. Things change, people change. Mom said to never say never.
The stupid makes my head hurt.....
