Is RGM still an underdog or a soon to be" Force to be Reckoned With."

Although RGM is a single car team for now, should he really be considered a little guy?Robby has had his own team steady now since 2005 and has weathered through some tough times. With the gift of a silver tongue he has managed to have sponsorship the majority of the time and has even stepped up to the plate and sponsored his own car. Tommy Baldwin considers these economic times to be perfect for the small guy,one would think that technically RGM is way ahead of these new startup teams (I'm talkin' the ones' that say they're here for the season-Tommy B., Mayfield and Front Row Joe(Stewart-Haas with Hendrick support doesn't fit into this class). ). Maybe now is the time for Robby to use his Silver tongue and find sponsorship for a Gilliland,McCumbee or Dinger type driver to run a few select races with a second car, later in the season and expand from there. In the future when Robby semi retires I think he will make a great team owner, one to rival with Roush,Hendricks,Yates,RCR and RPM.

I Agree but Finding a Second Driver is a lot harder to find and sponsorship. even though there are free agents but robby wants a good enough driver that can compete well in the sprint cup series.
Robby will do what makes sense, he seems to have a good thing going with Toyota this year, no reason to jeopardize it with someone that's going to take a way from getting the #7 into victory lane.
Its the chicken and the egg scenario... All we can do is dot our i's and cross our t's and do the best with what we have.....lol
As long as Robby is a single car team with no affiliations with a powerhouse team, he is an underdog. That does not mean he is not a force to be reckoned with at any given time. Robby in a well running, well handling car would make any driver or team take notice. (just not the tv guys) I would think securing solid full sponsership for his own car takes priority over using his silver tongue for anyone else. Like any small business, expanding too fast can cost you everything. I'm sure when the time is right he will find his way to a second car. Go Robby Go!
Seems like a good time financially for this to happen though, especially with the raw talent without a ride and RGM able to keep costs down as an organization!
I agree.
I think its pretty evident with the results of Daytona and California that RGM is not yet a "force to be reckoned with."

Single car team, owner/driver, who doesn't get engines or chassis from one of the big dogs? Yeah, thats an underdog.
What would be the proper term to use for below "Under Dog"?
I think "kicked puppy" might be what you're looking for.
