Kevin, check out Garrett's pics. He's actually already put the time into 2 planet cars (1 black w/red,& a 2nd black w/green). Awesome renditions, as always.
That car you mentioned before (RG off-road) was to promote on an otherwise black car. He also did a Robby Gordon Wheels car. No vultures swirled in to attack, but I digress...
I guess I don't get the vultures reference as regardless of sponsorship or not he ran that weekend. In some ways, the media exposure for him running a back in black scheme, or his own company's schemes, may have helped him sell future races. As far as I'm concerned, as long as RG stays in the top 35 he is guaranteed a starting spot making him valuable to any potential sponsor. RGM is in its fifth year of running in Cup, in my opinion, they are probably safer than your run of the mill start up team. Unfortunately, the media needs a whipping boy each week, and sometimes our boy is it (especially from ol' DW). But as they say, any exposure is good exposure.
I don't see why that's a bad idea at all. If we get the car funded to run, then great. It's only a few bucks out of my pocket, to support someone with whom I hold much admiration and respect then by God I will.
I don't find that embarrassing at all. If anything, it's breaking the mold, something Robby's used to. And it will prove that we are the best fan-base in NASCAR.
I'm glad for all the praise I have gotten in this thread but you guys really need to relax. Its an off week, so stop worrying. Robby is a smart man, he can handle himself.
