Testing @ The Rock

Just read on Jayski that David Gilliland ran some laps for Robby during testing at the Rock today. Interesting! Hopefully they got some useful information.

Hopefully none of it filters back to TRG...

No not TRD, TRG, the team David is currently driving for. They look pretty good for a start up, running in the top 20 for the first few faces and now in the top 35...

Of course anything that Go Go Gilliland learned will filter back. And so what.

The bottom line is doing something, anything, viable that improves RGM and quality feedback from a second driver can only help.

I have followed the TRG group for a few years in the sports car series and they seem like a good team. I'm glad David got a chance with them. Of all the new teams I think they have the best chance of making it. Glad David tested for Robby today, maybe future teammate??? Isn't TRG running Toyotas also?

you are correct. They buy hand me down no longer used RCR chassis's, which are probably better than what most non big teams have in the garage.

SLugger Labbe is always on SIrius TMD, so he gives a pretty good account/detail of what TRG is up to

Yeay I like putting him in the car. Im sure he learned something too, but i would rather have someone that is going to learn something and communicate it back to the team, than someone who is going to ride around for a few hours. I'm sure it hepled both teams out. I know we are competitors but I have been impressed by Gillys start to the season.
Now if we can only RACE at the Rock......but thats another story for another day!

You are right. The Rock is 80 miles from my house and man I miss that place. The racing was great! There were many fun rides home up Route 1. I believe they were all testing at the "Little Rock" that Andy built behind the backstretch.
