Why Don't RGM Absorb Gilllians Team?

I would love to see Gillian become a team mate of Robby. They have a good working relationship, he can really drive, has a part time sponsor, stands a chance to win on a road course and if he finishes inside 35 this weekend will be locked in they top 35. I mean money can't be a big thing he is driving for a one car team now with little sponsor money and getting results. I vote to give the guy a little ownership in his team (that way the driver don't get paid that much) put him in a TOYOTA and let the RGM Empire begin to grow.......

There have been a variety of reasons given as to why this is a no go, how about the most obvious. No sponsorship!

What Robby should do is concentrate on what he does best, off-road racing, Dakar and the 2 road courses in NASCAR. He should put a young guy like Andy McMillan in the car for the ovals and enter two cars for the road courses. Watching him race to stay in the top 35 with Nemecheck ,Kvapil, or Andretti is getting very,very boring. DW, Larry Mac and Jethro never mention him anymore, they go to commercials when he qualifies! Put a young driver in there that'll show some stones and trade a little paint and get the car to the front.

I mean seiously, you think RGMs problem is Robbys inability to race on ovals and that a young guy can get his equipment up front?

Andy McMillan of all people? Really? I mean really? He is more interested in shooting his mouth off and "quiting" websites than race Nascar. Even Brian Icklers name would have made more sense.

Right, not to mention RG has got plugs, interviews & airtime damn near everytime theres a live brodcast from Fox networks this year. What do they need to do to appease the masses, a 1-3hr special, RG reality tv show? & what does Andy know about driving a stock car, much less the top ranks of nascar? Not taking anything away from his talent, but theres more than enough experienced, available talent in NC that Andy would be wayyy out of contention. Oh,& one more thing Mark, we're racing for the top 20 now. Sorry Mark, but your way off on this one man.

Given Robby's independent nature would this be feasible? I am sure he might entertain the right deal. He was going to sell to Gillett-Everham.

Walt, if you don't know why that (GEM) didn't work, read your post again. Now, Marks idea...RG's too competitive to do something like that. Thats a pre-retirement plan, right there. Maybe when RG is gray,& ready thats how it'll work, but not anytime soon. Just like Indy, not gonna happen anytime soon. RG has a responability to his sponsors to be competitive through the whole season. Oh & the reason he doesn't "show his stones,& trade some paint" is the same reason you don't show some stones,& throw a brick thru your monitor right now.

One more thing, why don't we expand the title of this thread to include Kvapil's team too?
