Hey guys, I just found this online. This is some sweet racing action from old school CART. For those of you new to Robby and/or motor sports, Cart in the early 90's was amazing. Check out Robby's nice pass on Mansell in the early stages and finish 3rd. This is a 10 min summary of the race.
You are absolutely right, CART in the early 90s was awesome. Nothing compared at the time, and Nascar would have never overtaken its popularity if Tony George didnt split open-wheel up with the IRL...
I really miss the way CART racing was back in the 90's. It was so competitive. That's when I first became a Robby fan. I still wish Robby hadn't run out of fuel in the Indy 500.
Wow i do miss these days...I was lucky enough to see these cars race 3 times at Cleveland in the mid 90s as well as a couple of times at Michigan Speedway. This was truly the best racing series in the world at the time...To bad Tony George had to screw it all up...Thanks for the post this is GREAT!!!!
Awesome racing in the day. Remember watching Michael Andretti "stumble" out of last turn at PIR to be past by Mario for the win on Fathers Day. For a few years hit Portland & Vancouver for the races. It was a sad day when TG formed IRL. Unfortunatly CART was being run into the ground by poor management.
They were great years for IMSA as well - Corvette GTP, Probe GTP, Nissan 300zx GTP, Porsche 968, Jaguar and Toyota.
