Charlotte, NC (April 2, 2009) – The No. 7 Jim Beam Toyota Camry returns to racing action this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, one of the fastest intermediate tracks on the NASCAR circuit. Sunday’s Samsung 500 will mark Robby Gordon’s 12th start at the 1.5-mile oval.

Texas Thoughts -- "We are really looking forward to the Texas race this weekend. For the first time, we will be racing a new spec car that was built at RGM from the ground up. It is the first COT chassis that we have built at our shop, so we are all excited to see how it performs this weekend especially with this year's no testing policy," commented Robby Gordon. "We had a fairly decent run at Atlanta a couple weeks ago. We took some positives out of Atlanta and hope to build upon them at Texas."

Dallas Stars Outing - Robby Gordon and his No.7 Jim Beam crew will be cheering on the Dallas Stars during their last regular season home game, Saturday, April 4.

“When I heard the Stars were going to be in town Saturday, it sounded like a great way to relax after a day at the track,” said Gordon. “So I’m taking my team for a night out. I’ve always heard the Stars put on a great show, plus they are getting ready for the playoffs, so I’m looking forward to an exciting evening!”

Exciting Announcement: Polaris Industries and Robby Gordon announced that they collectively entered into a marketing and product development agreement earlier this week. The three-year agreement includes Gordon providing insight on future products and promoting Polaris’ RANGER RZR Side-by-Sides. Gordon’s vast knowledge of off-road vehicles, from a racing perspective and through his product development experience gained from building his own trophy trucks and accessories with his company, Robby Gordon Off-Road, will be a valuable asset in creating and promoting new RANGER RZR Side-by-Sides and accessories.

“I am very excited to be involved with Polaris. They are the leading American manufacturer in consumer off-road vehicles. The RANGER RZR and the RANGER have set the standard in side-by-side vehicles. At Robby Gordon Off-road, we have built the fastest, most elite off-road vehicles in the world. We are excited to share this technology and knowledge with consumers through our partnership with Polaris,” said Gordon.

TV and Radio Times – Qualifying is set for Friday, April 3rd at 4:40 p.m. (ET) on SPEED, PRN, and Sirius Satellite radio. The 334 laps of racing action begins on Sunday, April 5th at 2:00 p.m. (ET) and will be broadcast live on FOX, PRN and Sirius Satellite radio.

in an untested car that would be the shit!!!
Good thing I am on vacation just north of dallas this week. I might go take a visit to Buffalo Joe's 2morrow night. SWEET!!!
A RGM chassis...that is so freaking cool now that is the meaning of an owner/driver
I actually didn't know this was the first COT built from the ground up at RGM. Good for them, hope it works well
TOG, any idea where they were getting COT chassis' from before? I assume they were partially completed from whoever they purchased them from, since I know for a fact RGM played around with a number of suspension geometry configurations.

I will be interested to see how it performs.
Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope they don't have any problems in inspection with the brand new chassis.
Damn...you just made me nervous!

(crosses fingers)

Which "Stars" are they going to see??

:P
