Sounds like you had a good time Walt. From what I've heard, Marcos is a standup guy and very personable. Have fun tonight at the race, hopefully Phoenix will be good to RG!
qualifying quote from RG

ROBBY GORDON, No. 7 Toyota Camry, Robby Gordon Motorsports
Starting Position: 23rd

How was your qualifying run? "Obviously I would have liked it to be better than that, but it's not too bad. We're getting better every single week. We struggled here last time, so to come back here and run like we're running this time, I'm pretty happy."

How do you approach tomorrow's race? "We worked really hard on our race stuff. I think we're in good shape. We've worked hard on it and we'll have to see what happens. I think we're well prepared and we'll see if our race set-up is good enough. We were like 20th in practice in race set-up and a lot of guys were in qualifying trim so I think we might be better in the race than we were in qualifying."
I found something Mark said that was interesting...

I think the competition is pretty incredible now. That’s the thing. When I look at my race car, for example last year, I look at the No. 8 car and if they were having a bad day and it was Aric driving the car and he was 36th fastest in practice, and it was like oh my gosh, that’s terrible. Oh, let me see. That’s terrible. Robby Gordon is 37th. Well, I can’t out drive him on a good day. How could I expect Aric to? You know what I’m saying? And you look around and there is nobody out there on that race track that can’t do the job.

Robby has the pitstall next to Kyle Busch. That is a gret stall, because it will give Robby a clear shot out of the pits,as long as Kyle runs like he normally runs.
for those who wish to chat with others during tonights race, you can either post here or use our online chat feature, which has taken over forum postings during the race.
For those who didn't watch or listen to the race, and also weren't online during it, Robby pretty much ran between 21st-25th for the first 120 laps, made 2 pitstops under caution, and the crew basically held their own.

As of lap 123, Robby is 22nd, on the lead lap.
Halfway point...lap 156, Robby restarts in 18th place,lead lap.
Update at the 3rd caution for the 44 into the wall, Robby stayed out and started 18th. Reported twice that the motor is weak. At the next pitstop they will take off some tape from the grill.
F**k! The 55 really did us in. The reason was that we were down on power and dropped back to where the 55 could get us. We need to replace a bunch of Front end Components and hopefully we can get back out!
next time I see mikey in the pits.. I am gonna punch him in the nuts, and say "YOU KNOW WHY"!!.. and I agree with RG, I cant wait to see another driver in the #55.. POS strikes again!!
love that part from that movie
Same for you as ALWAYS RGFan!!! ( Your reply to Offsping.)
