Am I the only one who thinks we were underpowered at Dega,or was Robby just laying back for a reason?

He was laying back. I listened to the scanner the whole race. In the first couple of laps his car shot off like a rocket and you could hear Robbie yelling with excitement. Robbie started passing everyone. I think the plan was to wait until the last couple of laps and then turn it on. It seemed to be working until that wreck happened.
nothing wrong with his motor, laying back on purpose, like he does at every plate race, until 20 or so to go to avoid the early wrecks. He avoided the early wreck, but not the late one.Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
He also made a comment on the radio about how having the car setup with downforce was going to payoff at the end. Downforce would mean more drag and that is why he lost the draft a couple of times not the engine.

Yea, I think his motor and car was really fast....he got caught out of the draft once or 2, but thats the way it works...you have to take a chance to ride back there.
It seemed to me that he had a fast car, especially in the draft. He seemed to be able to pass people at will
He had a windshield brace that came loose towards the end. Caused the lexan to cup slowing him down on his own, but did ok in the draft.
he was laying back on purpose the 99 and the 7 had a plan to stay in the back and go with 20 laps but as other cars fell back also and got in the way I E the 13,43 he had to check up and he lost carl both times as long as the draft but was saved with a causion the car was quite fine
what was wild was Robby had 3 cars lined up behind him and they could not catch the #55 & #00, I have never seen a car pushing another car be faster than a group in a single file line. The #00 & #55 pulled away by more than 1 mile quickly.

Robby radioed, "I thought you couldn't bump draft all the way around, what's the deal? Tell the #55 & #00 if they don't fall back to us none of us will catch the front pack. Why is Nascar letting guys bump draft in the corners?"

After the race, Dale Jr said during his press conference that 2 cars pushing was better than a pack. He said when he pushed the #31 all the way around the track he could have stayed in the gas and probably lapped everyone, but the #31 radioed it was having electrical issues and Jr backed off. It also played out at the end, Newman said Jr started plowing him and he was just steering since his rear wheels were practically off the ground, but they took off and left the pack until Carl was pushed by the #09 and passed Newman & Jr.
Dude if laying back is somthing you don't understand, you got alot to learn about Na$car plate races. He ran with the 99 the whole race and he was in front at the end. I fliped to the 99"s scaner and he said the 7 and I both have great cars.
