Some Silly Season rumors you might or might not have heard...

David Gilliland took an upset Nationwide win and landed a Cup ride with Yates Racing, so what will Brad Keselowski do pulling off an upset Cup win with a limited schedule organization?

Dale Jr addressed that he would love to have Brad back in 2010 in his Nationwide car, but nothing was signed. As for Cup, Jr said it would be up to Mr. Hendrick & Brad to decide 2010. That also could be up to current driver Mark Martin. Mark Martin has been told the #5 seat is his as long he wants to continue. After a win in Phoenix, it's likely Martin could return again to the #5 team.

So where does that leave Brad? Several options...Hendrick could run Brad in the #09 team for 2010 w/ Finch using Hendrick equipment or Move Junior Motorsports up to Cup...could the #8 be back with Junior then? It also will make Brad a highly sought after driver.

What we do know is JGR will be looking for a 4th driver.

Rumor is Jamie McMurray will be out at Roush and Crown Royal might be willing to stay with him depending on where he lands.

Elliott Sadler is likely to be gone from RPM, he was able to keep his seat for 2009 after off season drama, but he want keep it again if his performance doesn't improve. Crew chief change already in the works. Reed Sorenson isn't far behind...

Hornish is also in a make or break year with Penske. Driver Kurt Busch is leading the points, David Stremme is inside the Top 25 in year 1, while Hornish continues to struggle with consistency. Not to mention Penske driver Justin Allgaier looks promising.

RCR has seen a major change as Harvick & Mears are 20th & 21st in points, also getting a major shake up with crew changes. While Bowyer & Burton are inside the Top 10. Harvick has been rumored as to possibly following in former RCR driver's Robby Gordon's path and becoming a driver/owner in 2010. Mears hasn't done much with top tier Hendrick & RCR equipment.

Michael Waltrip could hang up his driver suit and stick to being just an owner in 2010, but currently sits inside the Top 25 and has the rest of the season to go...rumor is Martin Truex would join MWR and take over the #55 NAPA Toyota, with Bas Pro Shops leaving DEI to join Stewart Haas Racing.

DEI is in major trouble after already losing the #8 team. If Truex bolts and a top tier driver & sponsor isn't found, Teresa Earnhardt may see the end of DEI. It's known today as EGR, but Ganassi sits in a better position with Juan Pablo Montoya and Target sponsorsphip to stick around.

So I guess where you all live you have something similar to California's Prop 215? Your dispensaries must have da kine....!
Truex to MWR? Not likely. I see him going to Stewart-Haas and bring Bass Pro Shop with him. They are committed to Truex and Stewart has a long standing relationship with Bass Pro in his USAC team.

Hornish will stay, Penske loves him and so does Mobil. McMurray to Yates, that's a given.
Actually, the strongest rumor is Truex to MWR...I've been hearing it for over a month now. That's why Michael made the statement about evaluating his season as a driver at the end of the season. Michael knows he needs a star driver to keep NAPA happy. Truex is the only name I've heard. As for Bass Pro Shops...I agree they will try and make a run at keeping Truex as a package to Stewart Haas or JGR. But, word is they will part.

I agree Penske likes Hornish, but Stremme is producing & with Allgair coming on strong it comes down to what fits...4 drivers 3 sponsors...Hornish would be odd man out.
BPS is going to Stewart-Haas with, or without Truex. Also who says they go to SHR together?
Heres an idea, sponsorship of the team... For instance, 24 race pkg including 12 with Stewart, 8 with Newman,& 4 with Truex.
As for the 26, not a given. 1 team will leave Roush, everyone assumes it will be the 26. You guys think Jack doesn't have a trick, or 2 under that hat?
In the end, it'll come down to which pkg can he move wthout losing out. I'm not a big fan of Jacks, but he's smart enough to make this into a lateral move. That is, if it's still a nessecary evil by the end of the year. Yes, yes I know, I'm smoking the wacky tobacky with Snoop-a-loopa.
It's not official, but Jamie has almost confirmed by hints he's the odd man out...strictly looking at contracts and sponsorship agreements alone. I agree, Yates looked like the obvious choice...just like EVERYONE though Junior was certainly headed with Budweiser to RCR when he announced he was leaving DEI...don't count out JGR, they want a 4th car and Toyota can spend the money to help them land a package. All JGR needs is a sponsor, that's where the Crown Royal deal comes in.
If only RGM was in a better points position... maybe RGM could take on a 2nd team. In fact, I'm certain that would have been the plan had his '09 season gone better. And now the TT car is wrecked! That really sucks... But still I'm hopeful that Robby can find himself a teamate that can not just expand RGM but provide the team with more feedback and track data. It can still happen this year. Penske merger deal with RGM could be pretty nice...
all this talk of RG Expanding don't you think it would of already happened if it was going to . Paul just left dei and went to yates. Considering Rg's relationship with the Menards its kinda of a diss ....but business is business
This thread was about all the rumors being started latley...NONE had anything to do with Robby merging or selling, or adding a 2nd car. Not sure why everyone is taking the road...
Yeah "wicked stepmother"...damn her for keeping what's hers and not giving it to some yuppy, ignorant, incoherent idiot just his name is the same as his daddy's...
I fault both. Junior knew he had the sponsors, following & support. All Teresa had was the number 8 and ownership of DEI, Inc. It's really sad, I know Dale Sr would have loved to have Junior driving for his team and one day take over. It's a shame the two couldn't make it work for Dale Sr.'s sake. I'm sure Dale never would have imagined it would be half been torn apart like this.

Just sad...
It's sad that he felt it was his birthright to own it. It's not like Teresa wasn't offering him a ride and spot on the team, she didn't kick him out; he sold out.
