2009 Richmond Race Weekend Discussion

Join in here and discuss all the weekend activities at Richmond for Robby Gordon. Here is the schedule for the weekend,all times eastern standard. First practice is on Friday at 12:00pm, followed by happy hour at 2:00pm both on SPEED. Qualifying is Friday at 5:30pm, also on SPEED. The race is on Saturday ,May 2nd at 7:00 pm. Don't forget live chat on Saturday, beginning at 3:00pm. (Live chat is a popular feature,but for those who don't care for it,please continue to post your thoughts right here on raceday.)

Bullshit. You really think Monster doesn't pay enough to cover the costs of SCORE?

Better yet, its a reason to root against RG in NASCAR if all he wants to do is be an also ran. Someone that is a glorified start and park....

I think Piloti could cover the cost's of SCORE & I'm also guessing DAKAR ain't cheap, that GM ain't got an empty checkbook, and that maybe all the more dough, the better- Who KNow's

No! Chad Knaus said on TWIN Monday night, that when it rains at Richmond on Saturday night, JJ wins on Sunday. I can't take a 5th straight Hendricks win. But there is a 50-60% chance of rain.

I know were in a tough spot, but it's all just really crappy luck. We don teven need goo dluck, we just need NOTHING to happen...lol

Texas running 22nd when the engine blew. left 51 on the table there
Phoenix restarted 18th bu dropped back to 25th when Waltrip took us out. The dorp was due to guys taking tires behind him. We were better than Logano and Mears all night long..they finished 20th...us 39th. 57 left on the table.
Talledega. Had a top 15 going with 8 to go...ended up 29th 42 on the table.

Easily 150 points that should of been ours. Its not like we were running like crap and were put out of our misery (which was a lot of the times last year).

That puts us 31st with a nice cushion on 36th....and only 115 out of 20th.

As for qualifying...we're fine in non impound races....

Fontana 12th
Vegas 32nd
Atlanta 19th
Bristol 36th
Martinsville..well we should skip this track...lol but 30th
Texas 29th
Phoenix 23rd

We're not setting the world on fire but for cookie cutters we avg a 23rd SP.
At short tracks (mile and under) a 29.5

Im pretty sure those numbers are better than last year...esp at the cookies

Like JB7 says, i'd be happy with just nothing to happen,because he has been running very decent. Although I DON"T like the strategy of racing in the back at Dega. I have always said, if you are fast, go to the front.

but to finish first, you must first finish, and we really need to stop getting cuaght up in other peoples crap or having bum motors....

These COT' just dont have the attrition rate like the old cars...

So what woul dend up being a 30-33rd after attrtioin pretty much stays a 39th or worse when you get taken out

Boo hoo.... what whiners! So Robby's only among the top 35 drivers in racing today and doing it on HIS terms... how many wanna be racers can say that? None of those Hendcrap guys would have a shot at a win much less the title if left to their own wits. We don't know that Jack Daniels will continue to stand behind Mears if he doesn't perform. It's only been a few races! He may stay with Childress but Mears has no guarantees. We can all toss in our two cents but most of us get behind Robby because of who he is. I sure don't want him to try to fit into any other mold.

Not at all.... just don't think it will come to that. I get as mad as anyone, my husband knows to duck when something goes bad on the track cause stuff starts flying around the room. I'm just saying.... no secret RGs passion is the dirt. He runs here for fun and no doubt there's prestige. Guys come and go in this series. He's hung in. Barely at times, but still hanging. If I could hang with the best while I'm out just out having fun, sign me up!! In full disclosure, I grew up a Cleveland Indians fan back in the days when they would lose 100 games a year. Probably before a lot of the folks here were born! So maybe that helped me see past the wins and titles.

I don't think anybody is ok with being on the verge of maybe packing it in on fridays....last 4 weeks 2 blown motors and 2 wrecks that is pretty much out of RG control
