I was just watching the practice coverage and they interviewed Robby. He said they way he read the rule and they way NASCAR did is different. He also said the car was leagal befoe and after the race and he is going to appeal.
LET SLEEPING DOGS LAY
NASCAR WILL NOT LET THIS DIE QUIETLY IF A BIG STINK IS MADE.
NO WIN SITUATION.
LET IT GO AND LETS GET BACK TO RACING NOT COURT CASES.
I would like to know how many degrees out the rear end was. +/- 1 degree isnt much and considering that Robby did hit the wall atleast once during the race, it wouldn't be out of the question to possibly knock the toe out enough from impact if they were running it on the limit. To me that would be the same as the body not fitting templete from contact.
Rob said that it passed both inspections before and after. I am not sure how they would know it was "off" if the car passed inspection before and after; then they decided to take the piece back. I understand this is why he is appealing the decision. Seriously doubt this will end like the other appeal; but you almost have to try.
I sure hope he does, because Robby finally gets a break and does so well and wouldn't you know it, something like this comes up!!!!! Not that his ever so cool strategy was a break just really good thinking. Gotta love him.....
