Persistent Rain Postpones Fifth Annual Prelude to the Dream

Dirt Late Model Race Rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009 at Eldora Speedway

ROSSBURG, Ohio (June 3, 2009) – Persistent rain has forced officials at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, to postpone the fifth annual Prelude to the Dream. The all-star dirt late model race has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9. A decision regarding the broadcast of the event will be made at a later date.

The wet weather made it impossible to run the event that was slated to benefit four military-themed charities – Wounded Warrior Project, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Operation Homefront and Fisher House.

“We worked really hard to make sure everything was right for the drivers, fans and viewers at home on HBO Pay-Per-View, but the weather was the one element we couldn’t control,” said Tony Stewart, two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion and owner of Eldora Speedway.

Those who have already purchased the Prelude to the Dream on HBO Pay-Per-View, which was slated to begin today at 7 p.m. EDT, will be refunded.

Those who purchased a ticket to the event can apply the value of their Prelude to the Dream ticket toward any remaining event on the 2009 Eldora Speedway schedule. To view the schedule, please visit www.EldoraSpeedway.com or call the track office (937) 338-3815.

I hope I get my refund from Comcast....lol...
No shit. I got a confirmation from DirecTV for my purchase as I was reading this. Fuck.
GOOD LUCK!
Shit on two nights in a row by mother nature....what a BITCH! Fricken sends baseball sized hail through most of my windows in the house last night, and now this........what a whore!
Yep.....116th & Hague.........we got hammered.....Cars were in the Garage
I know Sept. 9th is far off, but hopefully Robby will still be able to participate.
well bummer drag!
Hmmm, since I will be moving to Hamilton, Ohio in late-July/early-August, maybe I can scrounge up a ticket or two to the rescheduled event.
Ive got 4 reserved seats I wont use, I'll sell them for face if anybody is interested
Kinda suprised they don't run it the off week between Joliet & Indy
Track is booked and sold out you bonehead - that's Kings Royal Weekend - second biggest race in the sprint car world! (no... not sprint cup, REAL sprint cars!) Dave Blaney has won it multiple times. By the way, Robby would be AWESOME in a sprinter. Stewart and Blaney should take him around the track in one. I bet he would be competitive within 20 laps. 1200 pounds, 850 hp, 12 or 13 second laps. The training manual is simple - get in, sit down, shut up, hang on! Gas on, Robby!
Well, they could still do it on either of the Wednesdays, which would be fine.

It makes more sense to do it on Sept 9th right before the World100 because that is when the Dirt Late Models and their fans are back in town....

If Robby is still planning on running the entire SCORE schedule it makes for a busy week for RG. Prelude to the World 100 on Sept 9th, SCORE Primm 300 11th-13th, NASCAR Richmond Sept. 12th....
