ROBBY GORDON (No. 7 Menards/John Manville Dodge Charger) Finished 37th
“We missed it on setup and got ourselves lapped and on a pit adjustment, the leader beat us another lap. We lost two and never got a chance to get them back. I don’t know if it would have made any difference if we had gotten the laps back. Thank God we have a road course coming up next week so we can get some momentum back with this race team.”

Scott Riggs Looking at Pocono

While still unofficial, it appears that Scott Riggs will be the odd man out at Stewart-Haas. Riggs had been talking to several teams about opportunities in 2009. According to NASCAR.com, he's 99.99999 percent sure he won't be back with the team.

Meanwhile Joe Custer, the team's manager, stated that "no one's out" and expects a decision on the driver lineup next week (www.NASCAR.com).

While Riggs hasn't finalized anything yet, he is still looking for a Sprint Cup ride and is working hard to secure one. If the rumor about State Water Heaters staying with Riggs as a package deal is true, with our economy in shambles right now it could be a blessing for him and an incentive for a team to sign him. One on the radr might be
Robby Gordon Motorsports.

Riggs would be a benefit for Robby by adding a teammate and making him more competitive. If Gordon wants a teammate, I can't see him passing on the package of Riggs/State Water Heaters. Gordon has a new shop with space for a 2nd team.

I agree. I still to this day believe that firing Gene was the biggest mistake the team ever made.

Hey, as long as Walter is with the team, he is my guy. I will support him through the good and the bad, but I have the right to question the performance. I'm looking forward to Watkins Glen and Walter helping Robby win.
Yes, yes,& yes. Now let's get that hot (wing) rod on track. You send that email? I would, might start a fire somewhere, that needs it. I think thats your best,& most possible rendering yet.
No, I don't want to get sued for using Robby's # and stuff.
Your not selling anything, just pipedreaming, they're not gonna hate you for that. Actually I *KNOW* Rob would get a kick outta that.
Not sure what you guys are talking about, but maybe Garrett should post it here and we can advise. (or laugh, or whatever....)
I can agree with that. RG should keep his stuff by all means and have a 'satellite' deal with another team, with RGM being the PLANET (pun intended). That could work out well for all involved.
To sum up the Riggs deal...If Robby was in position last year to purchase Yates (handshake agreement), then getting Riggs and his sponsor can't be a far stretch.

Hopefully Robby wins this weekend and everybody here rips off the rear view mirror and starts looking out the windshield!

A win would cure it all!
HAAS doesn't charge full pop for sponsorship. ladies and gents he only charges half... about 6-7 million. He floats the rest.

So if Riggs did have SWH with him it wouldn't be considered full sponsorship. And by the way.... How do you think SWH business is doing these days??? I think this is all just BS.
Remember last year when the rumors of Yellow Transportation and Johnny Sauter were pointed in RGM's direction? Sounds like the same thing is going on.
The Riggs & State Water Heaters came from an interview from Scott Riggs at Pocono during the rain delay Saturday.

Riggs stated he was 99.9% sure he would be out at Haas at the end of the year. He added State Water Heaters wanted to remain in Cup and he's had discussions of them moving together to another team.

The type of money State Water Heaters could put up would be enough for a team looking to expand. The reporter added it would be great for a team like Robby Gordon Motorsports. That's what got the RGM buzz going.

It's been rumored that if Riggs & State Water Heaters is indeed a package deal then several owners would be interested. Yates, DEI, MWR, BDR and RGM. With the Nationwide series moving to a COT next year, some Nationwide teams could move up to Cup.
No COT in Nationwide next year. That's been put on hold due to the expense.
Yeah, could be a bunch of wishful thinking, but that's never stopped us before!

Maybe we should just discuss how crappy the races went for Robby the last few weeks.
