ANd lets not forget we have a chance to put 150+ more on the greatest driver in the world...lol. Can put the nail in the top 35 coffin this weekend and not have to worry about it. Onward and upward!
Most were disappointed in Robby's qualifying run...but here's an interesting quote from Jeff Gordon:
Jeff Gordon last won at Infineon in 2006 and admits he still hasn’t figured out NASCAR’s COT (Car of Tomorrow) on the road courses.
Gordon, who has a brand new road course car this year, said the setup for qualifying can be very different from the race setup, where finishing all 110 laps is crucial.
“I could contend for the pole or be 25th,” said Gordon before qualifying. “This car is so tight, it’s easy to make mistakes.”
I don't think so because when interviewed during practice, he talked like he was capable of sitting on the pole...and wanted to. But I do like the point brought up about Jeff Gordon being either a pole car or a 25th place car.
Remember that old poll that they took from the drivers several years ago? They asked the drivers which driver they would least like to have behind them? Most drivers said; Robby Gordon because he will pressure you until you make a mistake. Well I think this is going to hold true this Sunday. Robby is alot better than alot of the drivers ahead of him.. I bet you see alot of drivers getting out of Robby's way.
