The only reason he was up front at all, was because he didn't pit... Most of his day was spent running around in 20th or worse... sure he lead a lap or two, but he was NOT competitive IMO...
Matt, he was up front because he changed his strategy. He aligned with those of Kasey and Tony. After they pitted they were in the 20s. Seemed to work for them.
I understand... but IMO this was NOT the same Robby road course racing that we are accustomed to... maybe that was the difference... He was back in the pack alot more than ever before. But made no real move on the track to get to the front. I know why he changed his strategy, but I was simply stating that the only reason he was P2 behind Tony wasn't because he passed a ton of cars, it was because of not pitting. Did he not ride in the 20's the majority of the day?
if the 47 does not run into the 96 we have a totally different conversation right now............
Thx my forum on this got killed but let's wait to see what Robby says it mite get reopened by some one else.
fucin 3 laps tgo power gos out did see finish
Dave, Check out jeremymayfield.com...Just kidding. I am sorry to hear the 10 year streak has died, but I hope your on here soon celebrating because this team is getting better, IMO. Good Luck.
This Team will prevail!!! Gas On Robby!!!!
He holds his own. The cup series just seems to get tougher each year. Look at how many teams have closed, Robby is still very much going.
Road courses require more strategy then oval races. I don't think RGM will be going to F1 anytime soon; strategy rules there.

Robby was fast all day when looking at the clock but it did not appear that he was able to pull folks off the corner. He needed to carry the momentum and launch so he could set them up and dive low going into the next corner. Don't know if it was horsepower or forward bite. Did anyone else notice?

Also, he seemed to have a hard time in traffic and during the double file restarts. Was he being too conservative instead of sticking his nose into where it belongs like the old Robby?

I really hate the COT!
He ran mid pack for most of the day, he stayed out and led a couple of laps and that's where the trouble started. The caution came out before Robby was about to pit and got screwed, towards the end of the race he got caught in a couple of accidents and finished 36th. Pretty miserable day.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda.... it only hurts because we really had a chance today. You gotta take those risks to ever have a chance for the win. But the bottom line is he did have a bad ass race car. Yet the best car doesn't often take the checkers. If he fielded a piece of junk, we'd have more reason to be upset. On to New Hampshire... TOG, thanks for all your work in giving us this space to vent and share our frustrations with others who feel our pain.
