ROBBY GORDON (No. 7 Menards/John Manville Dodge Charger) Finished 37th
“We missed it on setup and got ourselves lapped and on a pit adjustment, the leader beat us another lap. We lost two and never got a chance to get them back. I don’t know if it would have made any difference if we had gotten the laps back. Thank God we have a road course coming up next week so we can get some momentum back with this race team.”

Scott Riggs Looking at Pocono

While still unofficial, it appears that Scott Riggs will be the odd man out at Stewart-Haas. Riggs had been talking to several teams about opportunities in 2009. According to NASCAR.com, he's 99.99999 percent sure he won't be back with the team.

Meanwhile Joe Custer, the team's manager, stated that "no one's out" and expects a decision on the driver lineup next week (www.NASCAR.com).

While Riggs hasn't finalized anything yet, he is still looking for a Sprint Cup ride and is working hard to secure one. If the rumor about State Water Heaters staying with Riggs as a package deal is true, with our economy in shambles right now it could be a blessing for him and an incentive for a team to sign him. One on the radr might be
Robby Gordon Motorsports.

Riggs would be a benefit for Robby by adding a teammate and making him more competitive. If Gordon wants a teammate, I can't see him passing on the package of Riggs/State Water Heaters. Gordon has a new shop with space for a 2nd team.

Luckily for us this weekend is Watkins Glen. The bleeding should stop. Hopefully this team will be in attack mode as soon a they unload, and they can't take this weekend for granted.Other teams will rise to the occasion this weekend, so RGM needs to have a kill or be killed mentality yet again. Also Robby can't make the MAJOR MISTAKE he made last year by entering the pits about 1,000 RPM's too slow than he could have gone.If anybody missed it, I will have last years Watkins Glen scanner replay available to listen to on Tuesday. He can't drive cautiously,or he will lose.He must attack! All should be A O K then, and I have a feeling Robby is going to be focused like we have never seen him focused before. We get a nice double header this weekend with cars that should be front runners both days. Now back to my vacation....
I remember that quite well TOG. He had Kasey Kahne behind him and Kasey was pissed off at how slow Robby was crawling down pit road.

Robby needs to focus on sitting on the pole, leading the most laps and winning the race in both series this weekend. Haven't had a pole in 11 years, it would be nice to see one at a place where he runs so well. Haven't had a win in 5 years(to the day of the race) August 10th(cup). He is due and I hope it comes together this weekend.
While I wish Robby would pay more attention to Nascar, I certainly won't begrudge him of his other interests!!!!!!! He is happy when driving anything and HE IS THE OWNER!!!!!!!! No one else could do what he does with what he has!!!!!! I give him all the credit in the world for what he is doing and has done!!!!!! He still is better than 13 Teams that have alot more money and backing than he has!!!!!!! The sad part is he is no better than a top 25 team under the present situation!!!!! He may get better or he may not, but I am a fan regardless, as long as he stays in Nascar!!!!!!! I wish him well!!!!!!
Hell yes! You 2 aren't the only ones who've been screemin that. I still don't understand that strategy. In my mind, the closer you are to the front, the less wrecks will happen in front of you, less chances for debris,& your generally running with a better group of drivers.

Riggs looking around, pretty sure he is out at Haas UPDATE: Scott Riggs, driver of the #66 for Haas CNC Racing which will become the #4 Stewart-Haas car next year, is already talking with others about his future. "I'm 99.99999 percent sure I won't be here next year," Riggs said Friday. Joe Custer, the team's general manager, said, "no one is out," but expect a decision on the driver lineup next week. "We're wide open on it," he said. "A deal is not done until it is inked so for us to say we're about there means we are not there. I can tell you we are working on them."(NASCAR.com)(8-2-2008)
UPDATE: With the thought that Scott Riggs won't be asked to stay with the Stewart-Haas, Riggs said he has been in talks with other teams about 2009. "I've been having a lot of conversations," he said. "I'm trying to figure out what is going to happen with me. I know this organization is on the way up and going to have a great group of guys and drivers coming on board. It will be interesting to see where my feet land and I've been talking to a lot of people, but right now I'm focused on what we are doing and trying to be the best we can be for the rest of this year."(NASCAR.com), hearing that Riggs has talked to Bill Davis Racing, Yates Racing and Robby Gordon Motorsports and that sponsor State Water Heaters could move with him.(8-5-2008) Comment here
That would be awsome. I am not a huge Scott Riggs fan. But, I could be really quick if he comes to RGM!!! The best of luck with that deal!
