While watching the Rolex car series race on SPEED TV today, it was mentioned that Robby Gordon will run the grand-am race at Daytona on July 4th, before the cup race later that same evening. So a double-header for Robby Gordon on July 4th. Stay tuned for more details.
*** UPDATE ****
Robby will NOT be running the grand-am race this weekend.
I kinda hope it's not the second Spirit of Daytona entry. They have two entries because they are going to start running the new Coyote chasis. The old one is really, really slow, especially at Daytona. At first I thought he might be in the Childress/Howard car because of his relationship with Childress but that's about as bad. That car hasn't finished a race yet I don't think. That's really cool that he's running Grand-Am though. Everybody likes to knock on the DPs but they make for some great racing. I go to the race at Barber every year.
NEXT PIT - With Jim Beam livery, Robby Gordon will be running with Bill Lester in Peter Barron’s SAMAX No. 45 Riley for the 3 p.m. July 4 Brumos 250 at Daytona International Speedway.
