doesnt being first in owners points mean you have been on average the fastest overall car up to this point in the season? lol
After I posted, I thought maybe it would be better to start by qual. draw. At least then, Robby would might get to start up front SOME of the time. lol
Agree to disagree...not much in favor of "Luck of the Draw," Robby rarely has luck on his side. Teams that would be running qualifying laps in practice would be the go or go homers anyway, unless you're at a track where pit celection is very important...atleast it's up to the teams to decide.
Well the real issue, of course, is to try to get qualifying done. On a week where qualifying is Friday and the race is Sunday, they should designate one of the Saturday practice sessions as a make-up Q spot. Then there's twice the opportunity to get Q's done right.

Only if both sessions are rained out would they have to worry about owners points or draw or best-of-5-tiddleywinks playoffs. It seems simple to me.
Nascar need to figure out how to race in rain. It about time oval racing and the weather elements were married.
interesting news tidbit from teh Mayfield case...

NASCAR also filed several documents Thursday, including affidavits from Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Robby Gordon in which the drivers said they are not "willing to put my life at risk driving a race car on a NASCAR track with drivers testing positive for drugs that diminish their capacity to drive a race car."

Interesting Nascar chose our guy for that....though with those 3, Nascar is saying "from Championship Mega teams to our solo owner driver little guy, this is not tolerated and unacceptable across the board"
This issue has to be a real touchy issue for the drivers that compete against Mayfield....On one hand you have the issue of innocence until proven guilty and on the other hand you have the safety of all the drivers on the track.....Myself if he tested positive for meth and he says it a false test result because of cold medicine I would not want him to race either...I would keep him in a controlled environment until he pissed clean then administer the same cold medicine he took before and piss him again, if he's hot proceed with a hearing if he's clean kick him the hell out of NASCAR.........
Maybe throw this topic in a new thread ???
yeah..sorry didnt mean to tangent this thread..just meant a quick hit...the mayfield thread wasnt listed on the main page and I was too lazy to go find it and "necro" it lol
I read in one of the many articles about the same thing this morning, that the affidavits were really just a form that the drivers signed. It's not clear to me if these were specific to the Mayfield case, or were, perhaps, a form signed by the drivers that was on file with NASCAR.

I do find it interesting which three drivers NASCAR chose.
anyone know off hand how long it takes to dry the track at NH? lol rain will be done in about 30 min...but it rained ALOT. Definitely a window after this...but with no lights...they need to get the track dried in probably an hr or so to have a shot at it
listening to Sirius too? lol
