CHARLOTTE, NC (July 2, 2009) – Robby Gordon heads to Daytona International Speedway for round two at the 2.5-mile tri-oval superspeedway and the third of four restrictor-plate races this season. Ambitions are high as this weekend’s race marks the half-way point of the Sprint Cup Series season.

MAPEI, a leading manufacturer in the floor-covering industry, returns as the primary sponsor of Gordon’s No. 7 Camry in this weekend’s 400-mile race. Gordon and the No. 7 MAPEI team hope to continue their recent streak of solid finishes at the infamous 2.5-mile track with another successful showing on July 4th.

Gordon on Daytona: “Despite a disappointing finish in the Daytona 500 earlier this year, we are looking forward to heading back to Daytona this weekend. Given our performance in the 2008 restrictor-plate races, we still have something left to prove at the remaining superspeedway races this year. As always, my goal will be “avoid the big one” and go racing when it matters. If all goes according to plan, it should be a good race at the end and a great points day for the No. 7 MAPEI team this weekend.”

TV and Radio Times – Qualifying is set for Friday, July 3rd at 4:10 p.m. (ET) on SPEED TV, MRN, and Sirius. The Fourth of July celebration will begin when the green flag for Saturday’s race drops at 8:00 p.m. (ET) and will be broadcast live on TNT, MRN and Sirius Satellite radio.

what about 2009 restrictor-plate points????
Go racing when it matters? Does that mean Robby will be running in the back for the first 120 laps? If he's going to do that perhaps he should find a drafting partner before the race. I think Paul Menard would only be fitting. Yates cars are usually fast at RP tracks.
TOG... How do you do it? You have the pre race report before his own site does!
usually get published to both sites around the same time.
Is the swag trailer going to be in Daytona this weekend and will Robby be at it sometime on Saturday?
I will try to find out apperances and post them.
