2009 Chicagoland Race Weekend Discussion

Join in and discuss all the weekend action from Chicagoland Speedway(Joliet,IL) . Robby Gordon will be running the Jim Beam Red Stag/Kid Rock Toyota. On track action begins on Thursday, July 9th , with practice running from 5:00-6:30pm/et, live on SPEED. Qualifying is on Thursday, July 9th , at 8:40 pm/et also live on SPEED. There are two practice sessions on Friday, July 10th,from 5:00-5:45pm/et and from 6:20-7:20pm/et , both live on SPEED. Raceday coverage begins on Saturday night, July 11th, at 6:30pm/et, live on TNT,with the green flag scheduled to drop at 8:16pm/et.

LOL not really I'm just thinking if he could just get a good tire pressure set-up by telling some team (that will never out run him)his shock set-up or vice versa. I am just thinking and typing at the same time lol.

Every one is slower this practice. It looks like Robby is on old tires too. looks like most teams are saving sickers for later.

Robby ran a decent number of laps in Happy Hour, and according to Mike/WC77's twitter feed from the track, his car is drving good. All issues have been resolved. Sleep well.

Robby's pitstall is just after the start/finish line, sandwiched between the #31 and the #77

If the Nationwide is any indication there could be some good long green flag runs tomorrow. So long as he doesn't get lapped, would be great if the car can avg high speeds for a long run.....

That seems to have been a pattern for the #7 this year - good on long green runs. The annoying thing is that he's been good on those at tracks that don't have long green runs. Perhaps it will pay off this weekend...
