All's RG has to do is read the planet then it will all make sense to him. We definitely have all the answers for him. Maybe we can act as the CC for the race.
Kirk: RG is pitting, what should we do?
PlanetRobby: Four tires, fuel, and tell him to go faster.
Should send the car, with Paul Tracy behind the wheel.
People keep getting hard ons, or squishy, over the idea of RG in a stock car road race like its a sure thing.
Eight starts in the Nationwide series on road courses and only three top fives. All three at Watkins Glen, where six of his starts are. None at Mexico or Montreal.
Hell, he has top ten finishes in less than half of his Cup starts on Road Courses. Ten top tens, in 23 starts, only 2 wins. Seven of his ten top tens, and seven of his nine top fives, are at Watkins Glen. So yeah, when they do something at the Glen maybe it's not a bad idea to have raised expectations, but excited for a win? That's a stretch? And to get ga-ga at any other road course the stock cars run is just downright silly at this point. Daytona and Talladega are usually better tracks for RG now than Sears Point.
He's solid, but anyone that still believes he is some sort of favorite going into a road course in a stock car just hasn't been paying attention lately.
If you're a fan, you would have a better understanding of what his record actually is at those tracks. I see you as a rose colored glasses kind of guy.

So, most likely, folks already KNOW the record, but don't care, and just enjoy it. There isn't an exam on it at the end of the day. You are one hell of a tutor though ! And I like the PT idea, however as a 2nd car. Get out that checkbook , PT !!!
I have to chime in on this one ....Robby can run top 5 at the roadies and that in it self is fun to watch, he leads laps and makes insane passes. I still bet on him there because he really does have a shot and his odds are usually 15-1 or higher. You have to admit the bad finishes were more about bad luck then equipment..how often can you say that about any other track?
Sure Robby can run top 5 on roadies if he had the equipment...just like Ambrose, Johnson, Stewart, Kyle, Kurt, Kahne and the rest of them...he hasn't had the equipment here recentley...not saying it's not fun to watch him.......but when you follow Rueitimann around on a Road Course for 6 laps, dive down under neath him only to have him drive right back by...you don't have top 5 equipment.....
Anything under 50-1 is a suckers bet...and the Bookies know it............
I would like to see Robby in Montreal becuase I like to watch Robby race.....he could pull a top 15 for sure.......
