2009 Crandon Race Weekend Discussion
Join in here and discuss all the action this weeekend from Crandon. We will have coverage on raceday from the track ( Crandon/Atlanta link on the main menu ) as well as the ABC broadcast at 4:00 pm/et.
Robby's race class runs at 10:30 am on Sunday, Sept 6, and he will have a practice session on Friday , Sept 5th at 2:00 pm/et.

It won't be on tv until 4 pm? They've been advertising live coverage. Hadn't checked the listings yet but this blows my excuse for missing church on Sunday morning!

Just read an interesting thread on RDC regarding TORC's rules. I guess they are much more strict then LOORS series regarding the body and body lines matching the manufacture and engine the truck is using. It is clearly noticed that Robby's truck is running a Ford body with a modified grill area to make it look like a Chevy. The front fender lines dont match, the headlight area is Ford, the door side panels are clearly Ford with the dipped body line right behind where the side mirrors would be. Also the body line where the rear fender and cab meet is the Ford body line. The rear fenders are also Ford with the rounded fender opening. Basically RGM took a Ford Pro 2 body and changed the grill to show the Chevy emblem.
Does this really matter? Not really, but this is a rule that TORC has made and upheld this year pertaining to other teams. If the Traxxis /RC10 sponsorship was not an issues Carl Renazeder would be racing this weekend too. But he could only run his Pro 2 as his Pro 4 chassis was designed around the Nissan Titian body and a Ford body was said not to be able to fit his chassis. In the LOORS they have allowed Carl to just modify the grill to look like a Ford.
So now does TORC look the other way for Robby, or do and should they uphold their rules for everyone? Sometimes I think Robby just likes to start controversy, because their are at least 2 or 3 Chevy body's currently being made and used this year. Why didnt RGM just mount a Chevy body on the truck? Because if TORC looks the other way then other teams are going to start questioning the series, just like we do with Score.

Robbys race runs at 10:30 in the morning. ABC is doing a live broadcast at 4:00, but Robbys class will NOT be shown 'live' , but will be shown same day tape delay.
If you come here on Sunday, I will be sending updates from the track as Robbys race is running live ( at 10:30am ) in the Crandon/Atlanta link on the main menu bar. If folks dont want to be spoiled for the ABC broadcast at 4:00, then I suggest not logging on the internet that day...LOL...

Okay, thanks. I will probably check in here Sunday morn, because I cannot help myself -HaHa! Maybe someone on justintv will show the ABC broadcast. I am not getting anything on my digital tuner here.
